I identify not as homosexual or even as heterosexual. I identify as a Christian, and as a Christian I understand and testify that romantic and sexual relationships should be between one man and one woman bound together in the sacred, holy, good, and life-giving institution of marriage, that no man can or should separate. Holy sexuality is the idea that God created marriage for the purpose of reflecting His own relationship within Himself, as in between the members of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), within the human race. For this reason, no other sexual union outside of this definition will work for the purpose it was originally intended for, the glorification and reflection of the Eternal, All Mighty God, but in fact will dehumanize, destroy, defile, and make detestable those who participate in such an action.
In my Christian walk, I must come to one of two conclusions in my life. If I am a man, the first is to choose to be married in such a way, loving my wife as Christ loved the Church, submitting myself to God, and be willing to sacrifice even my own life for her sake as Christ did for me. I am to provide for her, to care for her, and lead her as the spiritual head of the household, where I have left my father and mother and we are united as one flesh. If I am a woman, I must honor and respect my husband, submitting to him, as Christ submitted himself to the will of the Father. My duty is to encourage and to nurture a godly home and challenge my husband to be a godly man.
The second conclusion is to remain celibate, single but never alone. My purpose then is to serve the Church in any way that I am called to serve. I should not be a pastor, priest, or ruling elder, as I remain unmarried, but simply a worker, teacher, healer, mentor, and preacher of the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. My singleness is not to be looked down upon or disrespected, nor elevated beyond those who have chosen marriage. I am still important. I am still valued. I am still a member of the local and global church body. However, my sacrifice allows me to do the work that cannot be done as easily or at all as one who is bound in God's gift of marriage.
I hold these truths as self evident. That no government or man made law can ever change what God has set in the foundations of the universe. I also hold that anyone who claims otherwise, cannot and should not claim to be part of Orthodox Christian teaching. I hold that Holy Sexuality is an essential Christian doctrine, and that any church that has abandoned it needs to come to repentance or else they shall disperse and be scattered.
In conclusion, this statement of faith regarding marriage, I ask be shared amongst the faithful, and be preached regardless of the mocking of the unbeliever. This shall stand, and all will be well. Brethren, remain faithful and true, and we shall be united to Christ soon. We will not be overcome.
