About my writing
Before and during every writing session, I have to listen to music. Being the old-fashioned soul that I am, I'm usually listening to old-school hip-hop, smooth jazz, and quite a bit of Nujabes (if you're familiar with Samurai Champloo, then you've heard his music). It gets me going, in a sense, and I will usually start by reading a chapter or two of a book I keep close by.
For now, I prefer to write mostly short stories, novellas, and even one-shots. I prefer them not only because of their length, but because it allows me to more intricately explore a plot, a character, or a theme. I also tend to write darker stories that are intended for more mature readers. Many of my stories do contain some - if not all - of the following: deaths, violence with blood and gore, explicit language, implied sexual themes and sexual content, and some drug and alcohol use. Because of this, many of my stories will obviously incur an M rating. I write in that way because it is easier for me to. For me to bring out the flaws in people and the flaws in the world.
I'm what many people would call, a "percolating pantser." The term is derived from the saying, "writing by the seat-of-your-pants," and what that means is that I'm the type of writer who writes before doing any kind of plotting or planning. The type of writer who enjoy the thrill of the ride the story has to offer. However, the "percolating" part means that I'll think deeply about an idea and let it brew before I type away at it. That's how I've been writing ever since I realized I had a yearning to write, and it's easier for me to, but I just recently discovered that there is a word for those types of writers. Not to mention that it allows me to work with the freedom and flexibility that I crave, but it also enables me to write a story without really knowing what's next. Instead, I let the characters tell me the story, and I simply relay it back to the reader. I enjoy the wide-open expanses that "pansting" allows me to discover. However, I do a little plotting and planning, typically after I've written what I've had to write, to keep track of characters and events, and to later tie plot elements together. I also keep a journal and a notebook that I use to jot down scenes, stray thoughts, daydreams, interesting dialogue; you name it. So as unorthodox as that may appear to some, I do consider it planning. Besides, if I thought about it too much, I wouldn't get much writing down anyway. Yep, I'm one of those, ha.
Though I can use improvement in some areas, one of my strengths is my attention to details, things most people would outright dismiss. In doing so, it makes for a more realistic approach to much of my fiction, especially for the characters. I'm also quite adept at describing various things, thanks to my observant nature and personality. In my fiction, it becomes my strongest tool. When I read over my works, I read them as a reader and not a writer and my point in doing that is to ensure that the readers feel as if they are in the scene with the characters as they read it. I always avoid trying to sound "wordy" and using "too many words per square-inch." I try to get an idea across in as few words as possible. I'm an advocate for realistic characterization and my characters talk and act as if they were real, tangible people, as I tend to focus on thoughts and emotions through actions.
These are the go-to fandoms in which I read and write, though they are, by no means, the only ones: Naruto, Dragonball series, Yu Yu Hakusho, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Elder Scrolls, Sonic the Hedgehog, Marvel comics, and Rockman (Megaman in America for those who didn't know) series (mostly X, ZX, and Zero).
My forum where people can talk about anything and post anything. It's an open forum, of course. I encourage anyone to check it out and bring any serious questions, debates, or ideas to the forum. I also want to use it as a means of communication and union between fellow authors and perhaps create a support system, not just for myself, but for others as well.
I'm also constructing a blog with good friend and fellow author, KyuubiWindscar, solely dedicated to my works and future stories. Like my forum, I implore anyone to check it out. Leave feedback, reblog, complain, or ask questions, even anonymously. If anyone would like to be a member, contact me via PM and let me know. All of my ideas, sneak peeks, and short stories can be found there. And as with my forum, the purpose is to create a support system for aspiring writers such as myself, but I can't do it alone...and that's where you come in. Yes, you, the one reading this. We have the power to bring people together and help others improve, which will, in turn, help us grow also, thereby creating a continually growing network of writers who share similar interests and help others. That has always been my wish. And that is my ultimate goal. Let's get the ball rolling.

Hello, all! I'm aware I have yet to update anything, but I have a good reason. Last time, I mentioned that I thought I lost my notebook, but I found it, so I can get back to writing. I just need to find motivation now. With work, bills, looking for a place to live, and personal and financial struggles, it's difficult to find the time and mood to write. But I'm going to try my hardest to get back into my old groove. I want to thank those who at least look at my profile, even if you don't take a look at my works.
Update (7/12) - To those that actually look at my profile or what little I have on here and to those who just drop by, I want to say that I will be putting all FanFiction related works on hiatus to work on some original fictions I want to get done. I will be over at FictionPress as Brandon, the Writer. I just feel like I should create characters and settings of my own rather than work with people and places that are a product of someone else's imagination. I understand that that's the point of FF, but I've been wanting to work with some original ideas I've had for awhile. If you have the time, check me out over at FictionPress!
Full summary: What would've happened if Goku hadn't taken the fall that scrambled his memory as a baby? What if he came to earth with the full destructive potential all Saiyans possess?
This was just one of those spur-of-the-moment things that you just have to get down somewhere because it keeps nagging at you from the back of your head. It turned out as just a random "what if" idea I got while watching Dragonball Z. My oldest work and also one of my first that I put up on the site. Because of that, it also won't be up to par with any other future works I put up, though I did have to revamp it since, eventually, it just became an eyesore. It was either that, or delete it altogether. I chose the former simply because I couldn't see it go. I doubt any future work will be done on this, however, a sequel may be possible.
Full summary: No one truly knows what they were meant for or meant to do. But what if you found out that you were meant for something evil? Something malicious. Would you struggle to fight against it, or would you embrace the truth? Namikaze Naruto has a decision to make. And the fate of humankind is teetering on that very decision.
Bestowed with a curse by his father, Naruto is fated to be the vessel for the malevolent spirit, Kurama. Seeking sanctuary, he goes off into the unforgiving world, in search of the loved ones who abandoned him. And in search of the truth, no matter how painful it will be.
My current and most recent work and an idea I got after reading the manga pilot chapter of Naruto. I found many of its elements interesting, such as the use of cars, and it was set in a world much more modern than the world we've seen in the manga we know today. I decided to run with it, and so this story was born, though it was originally intended to be novel length. However, it will probably end up being a short story, as it seems an appropriate length. The plot has undergone a couple of small changes, but the premise has mostly remained unchanged. Placing the characters in different circumstances and giving them different personalities does offer a change of pace that I find comfortable, as I've grown tired of working within the same framework. Though it's not yet completed, why don't you check it out and tell me what you think?
