Rest in Peace Monty Oum. 2/1/15. Never before had I latched onto a work quite so hard as RWBY. Something closer to home, something I could follow, something I could contribute to, even if just a little as a fan. It means something that his illness and subsequent passing actually spurred me to take any sort of action. It wasn't a question of would I say something, it was what would I say? It wasn't would I donate to his medical bill fundraiser, it was how much could I afford? As a content creator, his work inspired me. As a fan of RvB, and then especially RWBY, I was happy to find such an awesome fandom and desperately wanted to be a part of it. I was just about done with fanfiction, but RWBY was one last thing I needed to be a part of. It almost feels silly, or just wrong, that it has affected me this much. I didn't know Monty, I only really knew that he was the genius behind RWBY. I feel it is that I just so badly wanted to be a part of something, and I so badly needed a goal in my life. I won't go into detail here, but Monty and his work on RWBY gave that to me. I wish you could have known, but the fact is I'll always be grateful. Thanks man. Though I hardly knew you, I'll miss you.
My Fics: (1/27/21) [I managed to upload two complete RWBY fics recently! They were, ummm, side projects... neither of them were my main works I wanted to write, but I'll take what I can get. And by that I mean motivation and energy is at an all time low, while self-loathing is at an all time high. Damn you, virus I don't wish to name! But hey, maybe a few reviews on my work will make me feel better. What? I'm trying to guilt you? I would never... Oh, and I've added a "recommendations" section to my profile of (so far just RWBY) fics I've read and think you should read as well!]
Violent Hearts: This is the first long fic I've ever written to completion, based on the anime/manga Sekirei. The canon material is basically a fan service story to be honest, but the story has more to it then most fan service works. Not on the level of more serious series I'll be quite honest, but it gave me something to work with. I wrote this fic with a much more serious, emotional tone than the canon material.
Violent Echoes: A sequel to Violent Hearts, as the name suggests.
Lamentations of a Schnee: What happens when I have a stupid idea and there's no one to stop me.
How She Vanishes: A short RWBY story about everyone's favorite mute.
RWBY Project: I've got 26 chapters done. I have so much planned I might have to split it into two fics, but we'll see.
RWBY Project 2: Why the hell am I writing this? I hate time travel, but here we go anyway... 6 chapters ready so far.
RWBY Project 3: What if Ruby didn't grow up on Patch? What if Yang didn't either? 9 chapters and growing.
RWBY Project 4: I have an idea for a RWBY/Pokemon crossover because the fan art of Team RWBY with Pokemon is neat. Ain't even finished a single chapter, but I have a rough outline. Currently stalled still with no finished chapter.
RWBY Project 5: Ruby finds a book about Grimm. Sort of a... villain of the week type of story. 4 chapters written and some ideas in the works.
Just Hit Me Already: A fun little story about Yang and Neo. Complete.
Mess of Trouble: Blake should not be allowed to posses power when horny. The second dumbest thing I've written, but at least this one is arguably coherent. Complete.
RWBY Romance Collections: SHIP ALL THE TEAM RWBY SHIPS! There will be a few of these, each with semi-clever names based off the ship. Gonna try to update one of them every Friday! Preferably in order.
Makings of a Hero: My first true success. The story is what if an OC character of mine took Naruto and Sakura from the village to train them. But there's more to it than that. Itachi doesn't slaughter his clan, and is the main villain of the story along with his clan.
Nine Tails, Eight Powers, One Demon: This fic is at heart, a comedy. This is about what would happen if the Kyuubi bonded with Naruto and gave him 8 powers, one for each tail but one. One power was lost due to the Kyuubi exerting itself to heal him after Naruto got Chidori'd at the Valley of the End. However, it's more than that. The Kyuubi is extremely OOC(Out Of Character) and annoys the piss out of Naruto constantly. And I've exaggerated the other characters as well. For example, Sakura is more emotionally challenged than ever, constantly arguing with her inner self over what she is really feeling deep down inside. And Hinata... well... you'll see. However, if you're not for constant tomfoolery and whatnot, relax, there are a few serious moments scattered around here and there. There is a plot.
Voices: In this Naruto begins hearing voices. I took it as a challenge.
The Gate: This fic is about what would happen when hell pretty much cracks open and lets a bunch of nasty, nasty stuff loose in Naruto's world. What is the nature of these beasties? What are they planning? How can they be put back? Can they be put back? Naruto's gonna find out that, and a lot more. He's gonna need a lot of help though.
Stay With Me: A fic about two sisters and their complicated lot in life.
How It Feels: By Raalm and ToxicExotic. A story that starts out simply as Blake having feelings for Ruby, but has quite a lot more going on after that! On top of that, I find chapters 15-30 to be among the best RWBY fanfiction I've ever read... and may or may not have provided partial inspiration for one of the ideas I'm working on. The rest of the fic is good too, of course.
Rhodopsis in Remnant: By 0neWhoWanders. A... very different but charming story that constantly had me feeling emotions that I didn't necessarily want to feel but also was impressed that I was made to feel them and just go read it already.
Project Freezerburn: by Snipersphere900 as well as the sequel For Family and Fulfillment. Both of which are complete! So lots of content to enjoy! It's about Yang and Weiss, which is my guilty pleasure combo... except I don't feel guilty at all because those two are such a fun pairing.
Is Qrow Ruby's Dad?: Also by 0neWhoWanders. One of the funniest things I've ever read. I literally could not breathe the first time I read it, nor the second. I'm struggling to hold it together just thinking about it as I write this. Dear gosh just go read it now.
Ruby Rewound: by Christopher28. Unfortunately it seems it might have stalled out, but it was quite interesting. Normally I'd have noped right out of a time travel story, but since I had just begun writing one of my own, I felt it was worth a look. It's good, though it sort've derails to cover a romantic plot for quite a while. Whether that's good or bad will depend on your tastes, but I found it enjoyable at least. Do me a favor and, if you like it, bomb every chapter with reviews. Maybe we can shake the author out of hiding!
We Were Close: by Half-Blind Otaku. Another old one. Almost like I'm just backtracking through my review history... This is a story involving a female OC and Blake. It's pretty good and- Oh hey! I helped edit many of the later chapters! Toootally not biased. It's good, I swear. Nah, but seriously, I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't worth it. Give it a go, especially if you're like me and wanna support people using their OCs for fan content.
