Author has written 2 stories for House, M.D..
Welcome dear Author or Reader!
I'm a German a longtime fan of X-Files, House,MD, Pretender and a million books, plays and movies. My favourite film is Silence of the Lambs (I also like all the books and the TV show around Hannibal very much - He is my favourite fictional character, with Jean Valjean and Frankenstein's creature following.) and one of my most cherished books/movies is Frankenstein, but also Les Misérables, Firestarter (along with many more S. King, this book is the reason for my nickname as Feuerkind is the German title of it), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Cloud Atlas and Das Parfum. Other beloved books are Picture of Dorian Gray, Woyzeck, Das Geheimnis des Hieronymus Bosch and The Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hitchhikers Guide, Gospel according to Biff, Glennkill, Mists of Avalon, Interview with the Vampyre, Neverending Story, 1984, Schlafes Bruder, Momo, Ronja Räubertochter, various Terry Pratchett, and so on.
I love Jim Jarmusch. I love the delightful trash of Flash Gordon (with the awesome music of Queen). I love Rocky Horror. I love Tim Burton. I like M. Night Shyamalan. I like Wim Wenders. I am fascinated by the wonders of LOTR as well as the amazing style of Sin City (the graphic novels are great!). Also I love Alien, Matrix, BenX, Die Hard, Constantine, Pride and Prejudice (BBC), Titus, Gladiator, Schindler's List, Life is Beautiful, Amelie and a lot of other movies. I am intrigued by Inception, Donnie Darko and Butterfly Effect...
Oh and there is so much music out there! My life's soundtrack belongs to Tom Waits but of course there are a lot more musicians and musical genres I like. I listen to everything from rock to jazz to folk to classical to pop to celtic to singer-songwriter to soul to dark stuff or 80s electro pop and even some rare excursions to punk, reggae or industrial. I am a music hoarder. It's just never enough but already to much to listen to all of it. Yet I can't stop myself from discovering new tunes to get lost in. Live music is the perfect escape from reality.
Then again so is daydreaming. I have lived years in my mind in order to survive the harsh reality of my life.
You could say I have a quite diverse or even contrasting interest in everything from art over film and literature to music.
I usually draw, paint or write poems so there will probably no more stories but maybe a poem or two. I'm not much of a writer I'm afraid.
Mostly I am here because of my obsessive nature. When I'm fascinated by something I have to know all of it and when that isn't enough I need to keep it alive by extensive ff reading. Various fandoms are combed through for jewels of writing.
I adore intelligence and am very fond of a good writing style. I hate to see wonderful ideas butchered by poor grammar, style or spelling. Seriously. Get a beta ( if you're a teen: congratulations for finding the inspiration to write but get someone decidedly older than you to check it out! It should not be too hard to find someone). Oh and if you decide to have your character raped better make damn sure you know what you are writing about. An all too easy Happily ever after following rape, victim shaming and blaming or sexism and "entitlement" for certain acts are not sexy, cool or even remotely normal behaviour. If you think so, you have a problem.
Another thing that really bothers me, though, are abandoned stories. Casualties of war between writer and muse. The forgotten corpses of ffn. It is beyond frustrating to find a good story only to be left hanging.
Ok I stop here. You get the picture.
