Fanfiction is one of my favorite escapes from reality. So far I really only read three categories:

SVMS (Especially those that disregard the last 3-4 books, have a stronger sookie and/or a Bill who dies asap) Check out http:// She writes some of the best. Other recommendations: Morgaine Swann and Terri Botta are also incredibly talented - everything they have written is great. Lesser known but still quite impressive is Meg2 - she has written several series that are well worth your time. For links see my ' Favorite Authors' list below.

The Hollows (Rachel Morgan) Series by Kim Harrison - If you've never read the books give them a chance. Vamps, weres, pixies, fairies and a whole host of "inderlanders" in a version of present day America where the Humans know about Supernaturals. There isn't much fanfiction but what there is offers some interesting AU Pairings. If you're in love with Trent or Ivy or Al, you'll be happy with what's on FF.

Twilight - Only if it's different from the books. Yeah they might be "sparkling venomous wimpires*" but there are some quality fanfic authors who make them better. AU & AH stories can be fabulous. I particularly like anything that breaks the rules - B/J, B/A, and polyamory.

If you use my profile to look for story suggestions I'll be flattered. That said, beware the pairings and any acronyms in the summaries. If you only like straight, standard couples with vanilla sex lives you'll find plenty of options. If you don't mind limes with your lemons or you appreciate a little bondage, you can find those stories on my list too.

Also...Laurell K Hamilton has an AMAZING series - Anita Blake Vampire Hunter. The first 10 books are focused on vamps, lycanthropes, and crime fighting. Starting with book 11 there is sex involved so stop at book 10 if you're not ok with that. (same with the fanfic - if it has spoilers for ID or later expect lemons)
Her Merry Gentry series is also fabulous, but for that one you have to be a little openminded about magic and sex...Her lemons are ridiculously hot and (literally) magical! Laurell is anti-fanfic but there is a site where you can find a bunch of it for both series - http://pommterally

I'll occasionally look over an outline or the beginning of something you're passionate about. For example, I'll give some tips on keeping your world within the bounds you've set, or on ensuring your characters both become real and stay true to themselves... just send me a PM if you need a hand and I'll be honest about whether I have the time.
