Author has written 3 stories for South of Nowhere.
Hey guys. I'm Amanda. What's up?
Here's some random things about me...
Age: I am 15 and a sophomore.
Orientation: I personally think that labels should stay on soup cans but I guess I would fall under 'straight'.
Hobbies: Music is my oxygen. I play the guitar and piano. And I'm never seen without earphones in my ears. I also love taking pictures, and other than that, I play field hockey on my school's Varsity team. And I love to snowboard in the winter.
Music: I have lots of favorite bands and most of them are alternative or rock. I love Paramore, Secondhand Serenade, New Found Glory, All Time Low, We the Kings, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41 and stuff like that.
T.V. Shows: South of Nowhere of course! It's the best show ever! I also like Family Guy, George Lopaz, The Simpsons, Gossip Girl, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and random stuff on MTV.
Love it: Smiley faces, pancakes, Fruit Loops, cinnamon mints (I have like a pack of 50 packs stashed in my locker) And of course,I love all my friends to death.
So what's a straight 15 year old girl doing writing stories for South of Nowhere?
South of Nowhere has really opened my eyes about gay/lesbian people and made me realized that it doesn't matter who you like, because you can't help who you fall in love with. And it's bad enough to have to go through it without people discriminating against you for something you can't control. I think if there were more T.V. shows like this instead of the addictive crap that almost everyone watches, it would open a lot of people's minds and show them that it all really doesn't matter. And it shouldn't matter.
And I think risking everything you know just to be with the person you love is the most beautiful thing in the world.
