I'm gonna refer to myself as Shade, cause EveryShadeOfDeath is to long.
I live in England, in East London, next to Stratford. WHOOOO LONDON OLYMPICS ARE LITERALLY DoWN THE ROAD FROM ME!!! If that wasn't cool enough, they open on my 16th birthday!!
I am a vegetarian, who eats fish, who is sick of people assuming I hate anyone eats meat. NOT TRUE, I don't even disagree to some extent.
I, EveryShadeOfDeath, have challenged myself! I'm proud to be part of the HPFC.
If you live in an imaginary world where Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Sirius Black, Fred Weasley, Hedwig, Albus Dumbledore, Mad-Eye Moody, Severus Snape, Colin Creevey and Dobby, did NOT die and they lived forever and ever and ever and were always happy and were finished with anguish, turmoil and agony, then copy and paste this into your profile!
Few notes about my fanfic likes/dislikes -
I HATE Next-Gen characters for one main reason. I am aware I am a minority here. In terms of review tag, if you ask me to review a Next-Gen one, I won't. It is in no way me being mean, it is becuase I can't review them without being a liar or hasving my hatred bleed through, which I think is unfair on you as a writer. On the other hand I am open to any weird parirings excluding them.
Reason for HATING the Next-Gen -
They are boring. I think J.K is an incredibly talented story teller and a very clever woman. She created an entire book series which is based almost completly on the theme of death and the things people will do to avoid it. She did not try and avoid the reality of war and killed many greatly loved, good characters to show this. Taking this into account it seems unlikly she would simply leave us with a happy ending and genuinly want this to be the end of her characters. For me the 19 years later was showing a traditionaly happy ending and showing us how boring it is when everyone moves on, when everyone is Ok and all prejudices are thrown aside. The children are by no means interesting, they are ordinary kids (in terms of the magic world), the snap shots of their personalities give us no insight into them or who they are, they are just empty. I have always seen them as OCs with names. Plus, I think a world with no threat takes away the point of the books and what they stand for, it is just a happy story in the end. Finally, Harry has done so much and now he just wants to settle down and have kids and is happy with this normality? It seems unlikly and, back to my original point, boring. Just my opinion.
I hate Mary-Sues (not that I am alone there). Personally I feel its fine to have your happy little Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu idea, think about it, don't write about it!
I love the Black family, though oddly enough Sirius is one of my least favourites of them, mainly becuase I didn't like him so much when he was younger and I didn't like how he was portrayed as amazingly good. Nevertheless I do like his character and adore him with Remus (we all know it, lets face facts people, they were made for each other)
I love the Malfoys. I think they are incredibly good characters and one of the many testements to J.K's skill. She managed to make you hate them and everything they stood for, then suddenly the in the 6th book she makes you pity Draco, by the end of the 7th I pitied all of them. A lot of people say they are completly evil etc, I personally would rather go for the people who stand with their family than the other crazy Death Eaters.
I love the Deatheaters, and yes, that includes Snape. Lets face it, evil is amazing. Snape is a great character who J.K makes you hate then flips is over completly. I am not a Lily Potter fan, but that devotion is amazing.
I hate Lily Potter. I don't understand why people like her, the only character view we get of her is about Snape, where she is a total Bitch. I can understand being offended because he called her a Mudblood, but she needs to get over herself, he was her best friend. Personally I wouldn't want someone that lets you go that easily as my friend, one wrong word and she is gone. She had no concept of forgivness, tolarence, anger and how it drives people and can not understand the sort of atmosphere Snape spends most of his life in. The fact that she fights for the good side does not mean she is a nice person.
I dislike James Potter. He's alright, a bit of a jerk, needs to get over himself etc.
I like Slash. Why not, I like guys, two guys together is like the epitome of masculinity, nice. I have no issue with Femmeslash, but I tend not to read it as much.
Pairings I like -
Draco/Astoria (Well written, good Astoria)
Remus/Tonks (My love for this really surprised me, ah well.)
Harry/ Snape (Mainly The Marriage Stone)
Hermione/Snape (Has to be well written, I am very picky about how Hermione is portrayed and how the love develops, even a long time sometimes needs to be longer and more thought through, she is not going to randomly fall for him and he is really not going to. Plus I don't like it when she is suddenly incredibly sexy/alluring.)
There is a few, I like a lot more but am too lazy to type it up.
I am a Twilight hater who has read all the books and seen all the films. My hatred of Twilight doesn't mean that I hate anyone who likes it, so don't assume please.
I hate it for many reasons. Bella is boring, selfish, has no real emotions, stupid, unrealistic and deserves her rightful place on the list of top 100 Mary-Sues - she is number one. Anyone wants to debate this? She is supposedly normal, but all the guys like her, she falls in love with the most good-looking boy in the book, who loves her back, Her feelings are suppsed to define 'perfect' as is she is basically never wrong. She is designed to be plain, but clearly isn't. She has and leter gets incredibly powers that surprise everyone, but no one resents her for this. Everybody loves her...The list goes on and on.
Also Breaking dawn was the most awful book I have ever read. She has a baby which Meyer says in the book is not possible - Humans have 23 sets of chromosones, Vampires have 25 (I think) THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE. If she hadn't said anything it might have been more realistic - apart from the fact that Edward couldn't possibly have kids... lets not get into that. Also, fucked up ending. They all live happily ever after? Nobody dies? She set it up for a fantastic, epic battle then nothing happened, anti-climatic or what? That is why J.K is better in my opinion - she shoes death, that not all the good guys are going to survive, she is not scared of upsetting readers and kills characters off to show reality.
Please, please if you agree/disagree hate/love want to talk about and express an opinion on my particular choice of pairing please send me a message. Oh, but please only people willing to engage in an open-minded and friendly discussion
