With my legal name lost long ago in a shuffle of nicknames from Auntie to Baby Sarah, I was eventually deemed 'Say Say', along with its variants - Say and Baby Say. I am a hippie-nerd type creature with a tendency to embrace the oddities that life has to offer. I am unfiltered, meaning I don't think before I speak so call me out if I say something and you don't think I thought it through first.
I read too much, listen to music at insane decibels, write constantly, and have taken up the hobby of painting to relax. I have mild to moderate insomnia that comes with the paranoia that my house is haunted by the ghost of Sweeney Todd - who is, as far as I know, a fictional character created by Stephen Sondheim. Absolute brilliance, Johnny Depp was in the movie. I'm very affectionate when speaking, so it is likely that I will call you some species of a petname, (sweetheart and love are my preferences) when you message me. I am a very crazy person, within this, people have found that I can be quite loud with touches of randomness that my father seems to think I inherited from him (I probably did).
I have most of Sherlock Holmes, 2009 memorized and can quote several sizable monologues from it, would much rather sit down to an action movie than a chick flick, and sing Sweeney Todd under my breath when I'm bored. (This is a habit on which my cousin has called me out on.)
I am a Christian and a Republican - gasp! yes, I know. With the big deal people make of being Republican, you'd think it's some sort of bloody scandal. I'm a Republican, not a monster. And before you even dare ask, no, I do not support gay marriage or abortion but I'm not here to discuss my political views - not that there are many.
Getting on with this bloody profile before I grow tired of it. My username is RobertDowneyJrLove because Robert Downey Jr. is my favorite actor. He's gorgeous and he's overcome more obstacles to be where he is than any other actor in Hollywood. He also seems like a genuine guy and he's just bloody fantastic, alright? Johnny Depp is also one of my favorite actors, but not for the reason you might think. Yes, I am a stereotypical girl. I do think he's gorgeous but I like him because he played the Mad Hatter, who remains one of my favorite fictional characters, and brought him to life. Tom Hiddleston as Loki is my love, right now. He was just...my inner fangirl cannot. It can't. And then there's Jeremy Renner. I mean, first of all, Bourne Legacy was freaking fantastic and Jeremy Renner's singing will give any modern "singer" a run for their money. And lastly, well the man is just adorable.
My best friend on here is, TheOnceAnonymous14. She's been with me practically since I joined this site and quite frankly, if she ever leaves, so will I. She's been with me through a horrible bout of being high as a kite from DayQuil to my recent involuntary endeavor into sleep deprivation. She made me a personalized Robert Downey Jr. meme for my birthday, giggles over Michael Seater with me, obsesses over Coldplay and Johnny Pacar, and is just all around great person. I recommend you look her up. Also, she got flamed once and I basically attacked that person in an author's note on one of my stories. If you have nothing nice to say about her, keep it to yourself.

Okay, here's the deal, I've tried to keep this to myself but I can't anymore. Lately I've been receiving and seeing others receive reviews that could possibly be perceived as lazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a great reviewer myself. I can't make myself offer constructive criticism - something my best friend can tell you - because it makes me feel mean and I don't like that. I have a few select stories that I review but for the most part, I favorite stories. Anyway, moving on. I get that reviews are meant to offer constructive criticism and I understand that constructive criticism is often meant to encourage the writer but I think some reviewers are forgetting the difference between being lazy and offering backhanded insults that they pass off as encouragement or "constructive criticism" and actual constructive criticism.
Constructive criticism is not just paying compliments. It is offering the author credit for their efforts but showing them ways to improve on that story or future stories. I've also noticed several reviews that either insult the story and it's direction or try and order the writer to take the story in the direction they want it to go. Or, they try to discredit the author's work. I'm not a fan of this. Don't insult an author for their efforts. They try and if they need help with their writing or editing, then offer to help or don't review at all. Lazy reviews are discouraging. Authors put a lot of their own personal time into their stories and to read reviews that are just criticism, that's insulting and discouraging. Don't review if you have nothing helpful to say. I'm not just talking about the "flames", I'm talking about the lazy reviewers that pretend to offer constructive criticism, when really, it's a backhanded insult at one thing or another.
Please take what I'm saying into consideration. I've read several stories that I, admittedly, did not enjoy but I did not leave a nasty review just because I did not enjoy it. I simply moved on and found something that was more my taste. If you don't enjoy it, please keep quiet and find something you do enjoy, especially if what you have to say is not helpful.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that reviewers should take the time to make sure their review is constructive and not just criticizing for (insert lame excuse here).
I'm not being mean. I'm just trying to make you aware of the laziness. Please, if you've received a review like this, don't feel discouraged because of someone else's laziness. What they say about your story says more about them then it does about your story. You put your time and your effort into it, they shouldn't take that from you, but also, hold yourself accountable if you receive constructive criticism. Authors should be gracious but also accountable. We are responsible for the mistakes we make. Constructive criticism keeps us accountable, remember that.
