Author has written 30 stories for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries. First, as always, Thank you for reading! To all my lovely readers, especially to the many people who've corresponded with me, thanks so much for your kind comments and enthusiasm about my work. Since quite a few of you are asking, I'll say yes, it's really true, I'm feeling as if I'm just written out on the genre, and SVM in particular. I will happily still answer questions about the stories either by PM here on or on my LiveJournal. If I continue to produce online fiction, it's likely going to be non-fanfic, unless the spirit really grabs me. Writing fanfic has been a marvelous experience, both in terms of getting me to really improve as a writer in a safely bounded world, and in making me better develop original characters and plotlines. I really can't thank you, my readers, enough for all your kind feedback both here, and for those who found me at LiveJournal so they could post or message comments. You have all been a true delight to correspond with. For my LiveJournal page, meganwrites2. Go to: meganwrites2(dot)livejournal(dot)com (I hope the clarification in the address helps.) Note: several people have posted comments or messaged with me about these stories, or my original work, but then they have private messaging turned off so I cannot reply to their questions. Updated Sept 13, 2010 To my lovely readers, I haven't been checking my email here as much as I should. I'm sorry for the delay in replies. To K.K.: I have tried to respond to your email, but as before, you have messaging turned off on your account. I did remember you, of course, and thanks for your kind notes. Best regards, Meg There are now THREE sets of Sookie/Eric stories. Most recent series (June 2009 onward) Post "Dead and Gone" publication: "Dead Wrong"- a longer fic that follows the events of CH's "Dead and Gone" "Dead Certain" - an Eric POV of "Dead Wrong" "Snapshots" - a short sequel to "Dead Wrong/Dead Certain" that sets up a longer sequel that is forthcoming. "Scenes from a Marriage 1" - a longer sequel to "Dead Wrong/Dead Certain" that follows "Snapshots". "Scenes from a Marriage 2" - sequel to Scenes 1. "The Darkest Hour" and "The Gravity of Love" "Paradiso" - the end of the series. Older Series (Spring 2009) The Dead Series: (all set before "Dead and Gone" was published) "Dead and Gone, With The Wind"- two one shots, published as two chapters, from Sookie's and then from Eric's POV. "My Telepathic Friend"- A Pam POV following "Dead and Gone, With The Wind". "Dead Accord"- a full length story, follows "Dead and Gone, With The Wind", "My Telepathic Friend". "Dead Reckoning"- sequel to "Dead Accord". "Dead Set"- a Pam POV one shot that follows the Eric POV piece at the end of "Dead Reckoning". "So Hard"- a Pam POV set in April, following "Dead Reckoning" and "Dead Set". "Alliance" - set about two months after "Dead Reckoning". "Turning Point"- the end of the "Dead" series of stories. "Our Little German Adventure"- an Eric POV drawn from the end of "Turning Point". Older still (Fall 2008) The Irish Series: (all set before "Dead and Gone" was published) At the risk of sounding impatient, rather than reply to anymore PMs and reviews about the issues in "The Gamble" and "Bound", I have a FAQ below. (But please don't read it if you haven't read the stories because it will really spoil it for you.) "From the Beginning" "Sookie's Revelation" "Friendship" "The Gamble" "Bound" "Recompense" "Gambit" "Desiderata" "Understanding" "Reconciliation" "The Weave of Time" "Retribution" "Family" Fans of the Irish series must be frustrated that they still don't hear anything about the potential fourteenth story being published. I just don't like it still and I like all of my readers too well to publish something I'm not happy with. We'll see if I can come up with any ideas to turn that one around. TOTAL SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST FIVE STORIES FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES MENTIONED ABOVE. So many of you have asked about the fae bond, the rings, whose life is tied to whom and why. I have to say it makes me feel that I just don't write clearly enough. So to settle the facts firmly and clearly. 1) Niall put the spell on the ring. Sookie works the magic with her will and desire to give the gift. 2) The fae bond affects Sookie's life, not Eric's. (he's the dead guy, remember?) 3) Sookie's life is tied to Eric's (dead) life or more literally his existence. (Yeah, I know, I know...) 4) If Eric dies (for keeps) Sookie dies. 5) If Sookie dies, nothing happens to Eric other than horrible sorrow. 6) Sookie is NOT immortal now. She lives a regular lifespan. 7) Eric accepts the gift, because I assure you, there is no way the man thinks he is going to be dying for real. FAQ#2- this FAQ relates to the second series, the New Eric/Sookie stories (Dead Accord, Dead Reckoning, etc.) The Formal Bond mentioned in "Dead Reckoning" "Dead Set", and "So Hard" is a bond that is like that in the ceremony for vampire-vampire marriages, or a vampire-human marriage, as mentioned in various places on Charlaine Harris's website. This type of bond uses the ceremonial knife that Eric used in the bond made because of Andre. That bond was not really a formal bond because there was no clear intent to become bonded in a relationship sense at that time. |
