So, generally, I hate doing these profile things, but I figured I probably should since I've turned into a fairly regular reviewer. And how boring is it to go into someone's profile, and it's all blank? I think very.
First off, make sure you check the bottom of my profile for monthly movie recommendations!! Now, onto the usual profile business...
Hello!! My name's Ann, and I'm 23 years old.
I love fanfiction, because it allows for so many different possibilities... something canon or non-canon, or completely AU... it's pretty awesome how open it allows everything to be. Sometimes I get slightly addicted to reading them... that's a bit of an understatement - I can get really addicted.
I've started a few of my own fics that I want to post, but I tend to suffer from heavy writer's block, so I want to make sure I have multiple chapters done before I actually post. I keep telling myself I'll get 'em on here one day.
I listen to a ton of different music... pretty much anything and everything from classical to some heavy metal, although I can't really stand rap. I love a lot of old stuff like The Mamas & the Papas, The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, the Grateful Dead, Simon and Garfunkel, Steve Miller Band, the Rolling Stones, oh and the list could go on and on... Some more modern stuff I like would include Band of Skulls (who are absolutely incredible), Alison Krauss and Union Station, Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, The Black Keys, Regina Spektor, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Vampire Weekend, Flogging Molly, and many more!!
I'm a big movie fan... love Johnny Depp, love Emily Blunt... I thought Miracle was a brilliant movie (I'm a huge hockey fan). Gladiator was amazing, as was The Departed. I also like a lot of old movies like Arsenic and Old Lace, Some Like It Hot, Ben Hur, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Wait Until Dark. I enjoy Star Wars, although I'm not one of those people who knows every little detail about every model of spaceship or something; I just think they're good, particularly the original saga. Lord of the Rings pretty much blew me away. The Help was incredible, and so was The Debt... Jessica Chastain is pretty amazing. I could list tons more, too, but I'll spare you =)
As far as TV goes, I'm a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, and I have been for probably about nine or ten years now. It's basically my favorite show. I am a recovering Lost addict... It's one show that completely took over my life. I obsessed over it, spent loads of time theorizing and discussing with friends... yeah, that's a great show... even if the ending did sort of suck.
My current addiction is Downton Abbey. The characters are amazingly well written, the plot is fantastic, and the scenery is beautiful. It's so well cast, too. I completely feel like I've been transported every time I see it. And it's Julian Fellowes... he's brilliant. I honestly cannot gush about this show enough!!! I love it!
I'm a big fan of Veronica Mars, and Rescue Me, too. I'm also pretty much addicted to the history channel... I've always loved history, so it just kinda fits. I also love the Pillars of the Earth. I generally can't stand "reality" shows, either. I have completely fallen in love with Ringer (it's rather sad that they've cancelled it) and American Horror Story; they're awesome. If you get a chance, watch them! Game of Thrones has me completely enthralled! I'll also admit I have a total girl crush on Shane from the L Word... I don't know what it is about her, but she's just... hot.
I love to read, too. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book, and I love Harry Potter, although the epilogue in the end was total crap. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are some of my favorite books, too. I'm a converted Twilight fan. I thought for sure I wouldn't like it, but I did, although I'm not a huge fan of Breaking Dawn. Wuthering Heights is another good one. I think Shel Silverstein and Dr. Suess are brilliant and so incredibly creative. I loved The Help, and I actually thought the movie was a pretty good adaptation, too. Atonement was phenomenal, albeit sad. Memoirs of a Geisha was great, too. The Hunger Games completely blew me away! I read various history books... lots of history books, really. I read lots of stuff. I'm also reading Game of Thrones... the show inspired me. The books are incredible!
As I said before, I'm a huge hockey fan. Go, Blues!!!
So, now for the main ships:
Harry/Hermione - This is now J.K. Rowling (and Emma Watson) approved!!! I am ridiculously excited about that!!!
Obi-Wan/Padme (a little funky, I know, but it's so good lol)
Shane/Carmen & Shane/Jenny (I loved this pairing, even though I guess lots of people didn't...)
Lots of Game of Thrones pairings :)
I also thought it might be fun and different to update once a month to do a movie recommendation... Oh, and if you watch any of my recommendations, please let me know what you think! I love hearing people's opinions, and if you have a recommendation for me, throw it my way, and I'll check it out!
So for March, I feel like recommending 28 Days. It's about struggling through rehab, and it's a bit of a roller coaster. This is seriously one of my favorite roles that Sandra Bullock plays, and it still just draws me right in every time I watch it.
Anyway, so thanks for viewing my profile. Sorry if it was a little lame... or very lame lol... either way, if there's anything you want to know, feel free to message me! I'm usually pretty good about responding :)
Have a fantastic day!
