"Curioser and curiouser..."
Things About Me:
I currently attend one of the largest universities in the Southeastern United States, and am majoring in (go figure) English.
I’ve been around for sometime between two and three decades, though it feels more often than not that I’ve been here for two or three centuries.
For some reason, when typing or writing, it is my natural inclination to spell the word “rainbow” with a “d.” As in, “raindbow.” Please do not ask why. I have no idea.
My interests span everything from photography to psychology. My first love is for the written word, whether it be mine or my enjoyment of someone else's. The second love of my life is music.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and have no intentions of stopping. I think fanfiction is a pretty brilliant outlet for all those ideas swimming around in our heads, so even though I’m relatively new to the ff universe, I am delighted with the whole thing thus far.
Travel, the outdoors, animals, pretty things (particularly clothes and purses!) and handwritten correspondence are all excellent, too. My interests are polar: either they are extremely intellectual in nature, or they are of the silliest, most romantic aesthetic persuasion possible.
My taste in books and music is all at once predictable and eclectic.
My blanket statement "favorite film" is The Princess Bride.
Most of my favorite books are classics and fairy tales. Favorite authors include CS Lewis, Victoria Holt, Shakespeare, Austen, the Brontes, Poe, Lewis Carroll, Neil Gaiman and Stephenie Meyer (for the sole reason that she gave us something excellent to base our own fics off of).
I enjoy soundtracks, classical music, the ever generic “rock,” 80's post punk and goth, indie and everything in between. Especially the Beatles, who are always first in my heart.
I'm "waiting for someone to perform with."
Nearly all of this is tied together by the common thread of a good escape, be it from the reading of a good book, watching a movie during which you can forget the mundaneness of your own life, the laughter and company of good friends, or the simple act of taking a walk outdoors. Above all I want inspiration from everyday life.
"You get ideas from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time. The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we're doing it.”
