Author has written 4 stories for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries.
Hi! I'm Susie, I've been away from this site for a long time. I have two incomplete stories. Ready for excuses? My son was born August 19, 2009, and I was NOT a natural mother! It took me awhile to get used to being a mom, and by the time I was comfortable enough to turn my mind to writing again, my home was robbed. Both my laptops were stolen, along with my digital camcorder with my sons first pictures, the pictures of me giving birth and everything. I moved, but had no way to write, aside from pen and paper. I finally got a computer again earlier this year, but completely lost my desire to write. But now it's come back, and I am working on Dead All Around again.
So, about me? I am the mother of an almost two year old, who is my reason for living. I have a wonderful fiance, and will be married soon. I'm a stay-at-home mom, and spend most of my time caring for my son, cooking and cleaning, and about three hours of every day is spent sending out resumes and applying for jobs. There isn't a lot of spare time in my life for writing, so the writing will be slow, though I am hopeful I will complete my unfinished stories. I can't guarantee anything. Aside from the above I spend the majority of my time reading. The Southern Vampire Mysteries were my favorite book series, but I have been severely disappointed in the last two books. I'm hoping the next will be better. But during my obsession, I found fanfiction. Now I'm more into the SVM fanfic than the real thing... I am an unapologetic Quinn fan. I love Eric in the books, just not for Sookie. She can't have the life she wants with him.
I have posted a couple things on fictionpress, you can find them here, if you are interested: http://www.fictionpress.com/~dusklikedawn

MY THOUGHTS ON SVM FANFICTION- SPOILERS!!!
I liked Eric in the books, but the obsession fans have with him is astounding! I like original stories and if she ends up with Sam, Quinn, Eric, Alcide, even Bill, I am happy. I hate stories that have Quinn bashing, and I will stop reading as soon as that starts. I don't mind the Bill bashing after everything he put her through. Though there is such a thing as too much, in my opinion.
Another thing that annoys me: No one has an issue with Sookie calling her men 'baby' but people are annoyed by Quinn calling her 'babe'? I don't get that, why is it okay to call a badass vampire or shapeshifter baby, but not okay for someone a hundred times stronger than her to call her babe? I actually dislike the term 'lover' though, lover is not something you call someone you love, it's something you call someone you have sex with.
I think this is my last complaint: Sookie did not save Eric first during the Rhodes bombing because she was in love with him, she only saved him first because she only knew where Eric and Pam's room was, and the Queen's room. Since Cataliades was saving the Queen, she went after Eric and Pam. Also remember, she CALLED Quinn first thing. Her FIRST thought was saving Quinn and Frannie, but as they were able to move during the day, getting them moving was all that was required. She likes to help people. She thinks of the Louisiana vamps (before the takeover) as 'her vamps', because the supernatural community is the only people that accepted her for who she was, she felt a kinship with those folks and because of that she felt a responsibility to them.
Nope, I lied, I have one more complaint, people gripe about Quinn not telling Sookie his history. #1: What did she know about Bill's history? About Eric's? #2: How long were they dating? Six months? And in that time four or five dates? If you count being kidnapped by the Pelt's a date, or being ordered to attend a ball for the Queen, then more, but they weren't together long, do you fill the person you're dating on your entire crappy past on the 5th date? #3: How do we know he didn't think she already knew his history? Her best friends are vampires, witches, fairies, weres and Weres, and he was FAMOUS in those circles. She noticed people treating him like a 'rockstar' and never questioned it. When she finally did, in Rhodes, there wasn't really time for him to tell her. And finally #4: Why did none of her 'friends' tell her, if it was something to be concerned about?
Dealing with the 'Boys' - COMPLETE - This is a series of poems 100 words each on how I think Sookie should deal with all the 'boys' in her life. There are no names, see if you can find out which one is which!
First Attraction - COMPLETE This short story is Quinn's POV during Dead as a Doornail. The dialogue is even pulled directly from that book. I only changed the POV and the thoughts. This takes place during Colonel Flood's Funeral and the Packmaster Competition.
After Effects - ON HOLD - Sorry I've kind of lost my motivation. I'm hoping if I give it a little more time, I'll be able to finish - thanks for all the encouragement, folks! Just as Quinn comes back into Sookie's life, something goes incredibly wrong. She won't be able to fix it herself and will need help of all her Supe friends. Immediately follows the short story 'Gift Wrap' in the anthology 'Wolfsbane and Mistletoe'.
Dead All Around - IN PROGRESS - After the Fae War is over, Sookie has called in all her favors. No one owes her any longer, and she's completely on her own. She's now with Eric, but even he can't protect her from the newest threat. This story is my reaction to Book 9 Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris in the Southern Vampire Mysteries Series (obviously). I had planned on going very dark with this series but changed direction in the middle.
In "Dealing with the 'Boys'" Nearly everyone got them all right, just in case someone didn't though, here's who's who:
Most were pretty easy to figure out. I love the thought of Eric knowing Sookie so well that he'll let her go. Though he may love her (who knows?) or at least care about her, if he knows her well enough he'll see that what she wants most is a husband and children, she wants to cook breakfast in the morning, have dinner on the table for her husband and children at night. She wants to tan on the beach and have picnics in the sand. I just want Sookie to be happy. I feel like she's my friend, ya know? And like she screwed Quinn over bad.
