In the News!
1/30/13: So. Another update, another SAO one-shot posted. Be sure to go check it out, yes? It's titled Nothing of all things, so yeah. In other news the other one-shot I mentioned before months ago may be up soon-ish. We'll see.
11/14/12: Well now, this is a surprise. I actually posted a one-shot, and not for Pokemon either. Who would've thunk it? So yeah, be sure to go check out Game Over. And maybe, just maybe, if things actually go as planned, I'll have yet another one-shot ready to be posted soon.
Yo. I'm Mega, and I'm just another random guy with a computer and internet access existing on this big old ball of dirt we call Earth. If you're here, that probably means you saw a link to my profile somewhere and decided to click it and then make the weird choice for whatever reason of actually reading through this awful bio I made up, so hopefully it doesn't bore you to death.
I'm probably best known for being a moderator over at The Reviews Lounge, Too forum (commonly known as the RLt), which is the second forum listed under the general category here on FF.net for those of you playing at home. I can pretty much always be found over there whenever I'm on this site and not busy with living life or doing other stuff in general. It's filled with some awesome people, so go ahead and check it out if you want. I'm also a member of TiNa, or This is Not a Forum, the current top-ranking post-wise and (sadly) pretty much dead Pokemon forum on this site.
I ain't much of a writer, truth be told. I've dabbled in a few different fics during my time here on the site, and quite frankly, most or all of them suck. But that's okay. My main reason for being on this site is to first and foremost improve my writing abilities, and the only way to really do that is to practice and then get some feedback on what I screwed up on and what I could do better in. I'm not usually one for quick updates what with my busy schedule and all the time I spend derping around on forums, but I still manage to churn out the occasional one-shot every year or so.
I'm also always on the lookout for a good, quality fic to read, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM them me. Of course, this doesn't mean I'll review whatever the heck people send me because they want to up their review count or want concrit or whatever, but if it's something I like and feel could use a review or two, you never know. ;)
Arthur (Working Title)
It started off as a friendly bet between friends; whoever finished their chapter last would write the others a one-shot. I lost. More than a year later, I ended up actually writing the idea that was chosen for me. As I began to write it, I quickly realized it was going to be much too long for a one-shot, so I expanded it into a two-shot. And now it's going to be a short story. It will not be going up on the site, however, until it is completely written and finished, which may or may not ever happen.
The Flaming Prodigy (TFP)
This one's not being continued anytime soon. It was about an OC of mine named Cinder running around and doing stuff, with a bunch of other random people mixed in. I make it sound so great, no?
Previous Chapter Published: Chapter 7 - Here We Go Again; (July 18, 2011)
The remake of my first ever story, A Johto Journey. It's still the story of Derek Aareno, a ten-year-old boy who was forced to go on a stupid journey by his mother. Of course, he simply planned on ditching whatever creature he got as his starter Pokémon and going back home a few days later with some excuse as to why he couldn't go back out there again. But of course, as we all know, things never go quite as planned... Currently on the shelf, and I may or may not decide to pick it up again in the distant future.
Previous Chapter Published: Chapter 3 - Mission Almost Accomplished; (August 16, 2011)
Also known as "the project," Crossovers is a spin-off fic inspired by MrMissMrs Random's Game Freaks, with permission from said author of course. Basically, it's just a bunch of short arcs or one-shots focusing in on some of the Agents in the secret organization besides Celeste and Nathan. How I'll ever juggle it with my other stories is beyond me.
Previous Chapter Published: Chapter 2 - To Lands Unknown Part 2; (August 17, 2012)
Next Chapter To Be Published: Chapter 3 - To Lands Unknown Part 3; (TBA 2012)
My first ever one-shot. It focuses on the account of a male Gardevoir who has been tormented by his feminine appearance for most of his entire life. Add to that a trainer who doesn't even realize that he's a guy and many others constantly poking fun of him for his appearance, and you've got yourself a pretty messed-up existance. It was inspired by Creation of Pokerus, and does include some strong language.
A one-shot written after having to look at Johto Journey for too long in my attempts to revamp it. It's written from the perspective of a trainer who's come to a few realizations about his own abilities. But underneath that, it's a story of my struggles in writing here on the site in a fairly pitiful attempt to explain my long periods of inactivity and why I'm going back and editing everything. Dedicated to everyone from PTS, RoC, and TiNa, and also to my long-time reviewers.
Another Pokémon-centered one-shot, this time focusing on a Dunsparce who is trapped inside the Pokémon Storage System. I posted the fic back in 2011 but was never all that happy with it, which led me to go back and rewrite it in an attempt to make it even better after some inspiring reviews for a few members of the RLt.
This one was very interesting for me to write out, as I did a whole lot of things in it that I've never done on a fic on this site. It's my first story that's written in the present tense and the first story I have written in an active first person point of view with actual action and stuff happening to the character. Not only that, but it was also my first fic outside of the Pokemon fandom, as it was written for Sword Art Online. It's basically a short little event told from the point of view of an unnamed, random side character from the background of the anime, and it does involve character death (another first for me). It's probably my favorite one-shot I've written.
Just some random idea I had one day that wouldn't leave me alone. It's about a random NPC from SAO and his life from creation to end in the world within the game. Basically, the main reason behind me writing it was to see if I could get people to feel for a character to is, quite simply, a computer program lacking any human emotions. Plus, most of the SAO fics on this site focus on main characters, so it's always nice to do something with those characters no one thinks about.
A Johto Journey (JJ)
My first ever Fanfic and serious attempt at writing anything. It's horrible, it really is. I had no idea what I was doing, and it is fairly clear to anyone who dares to read the first couple of chapters. I officially discontinued it on May 27, 2011 after not updating for nearly a year due to my attempts at trying to actually make something out of such a crappy story. Renaissance is the revamped, edited version, which is about ten times better than Johto Journey ever could have hoped to be (and that still ain't saying much).
That's about it. So if you have the urge, go ahead and check out one of those monstrosities below formally known as a fanfic? Reviews and constructive criticism are always welcomed.
