Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. 8 May 2023: I have not abandoned It's not paranoia. However, I set it down long enough that I had to reread the entire thing to be able to pick up where I left off. While doing so, I realized that I had not mapped the story out very well and started making major changes. I will eventually post It's not Paranoia REVISED which will contain those revised chapters. I am still trying to make it so that Chapters 9 will still make sense even if you do not read the revised version. I also read kb0's Harry Trek and am reading his Harry Trek 2 as he releases it. I am working on a story called Harry Potter's Voyage through Space which takes place aboard Voyager. With kb0's permission, I have borrowed a couple of his ideas. I believe the rest is me. I will post the story when I have finished it. 25 Jan 2023: In 2019, I was hospitalized for major depression. As part of the treatment, I was pressured into ECT. It messed me up badly. I now have problems with my memory, my ability to do math, and my language abilities. Ironically, my language abilities went from being my weakest area on such tests to being the highest by a considerable margin. I am taking another shot at fanfiction so I hopefully can recover some of what I lost. I am doing this for me. As before, if you have constructive criticism, I appreciate it. Anonymous flames...feel free to take a baseball bat, wrap it in razor wire, and shove it up your... I do not have a beta. If you are interested in becoming my beta, I would appreciate it. PLEASE: If you do not enjoy my ideas or my stories, DO NOT READ them. I am not forcing you to. You should know...if you are reading any of my stories, I absolutely despise Albus Dumbledore and Molly, Ron, and Ginny Weasley. For me, Dumbledore is just like Donald Trump: a manipulative liar who is more concerned with his own image and reputation than with objective fact, who is more comfortable using people rather than protecting them, listening to them, or treating them fairly; who intentionally plays off of fear and prejudice and drives wedges based on hate and intolerance between various groups; and who thinks the world revolves around him alone. Remember, "For the Greater Good" was the slogan that Dumbledore and Grindlewald decided upon for their movement to take over the world...they just went around it in two different ways. While Grindlewald preferred a confrontational approach, Dumbledore would rather work behind the scenes, brainwashing generations of students, controlling the legislative and judicial process of the Ministry of Magic to ensure that no real changes ever took place; and serving as the Supreme Mugwump to ensure that the ICW never got involved in his own personal kingdom. Those three Weasleys are just Dumbledore's pawns. They blindly obey him and never really look out for Harry's best interests even though Molly considers herself Harry's mother figure, Ron considers him his best friend, and Ginny wants to snag him as her own the boy hero that she does not really know at all. To summarize: IF YOU DO NOT LIKE WEASLEY AND DUMBLEDORE BASHING, DO NOT READ MY STORIES It's not paranoia is a story that I am currently working on and am trying to edit it substantially before I post it. At one point, I wrote myself into a corner that essentially ended the story before Harry's first year of Hogwarts even started. I have worked out how to avoid that now and am slowly making progress with the story. I will post once I have a chapter ready. Am I in Hell may be posted in the future. I believe I posted part of it it here at one time. When my car was towed in November of 2019, I lost the equivalent of over 500 single-spaced, double-sided pages of writing on that story. That did not include my notepads of notes and story mapping. I have not had the motivation to work on two stories at once. My depression is still pretty bad, but it has improved sufficiently that I have resumed one of them. When I finish with It's not paranoia, I will revisit Am I in Hell, although there may be a long break between when I start and when I post: I need to get that story back to a point where I can see a path to finishing it before I will post anything. I do not usually abandon stories. If I am stopping the story, I try to wrap up the major themes in a single last, large chapter. 27 Sept 2016 I am tired of the hateful negative reviews I receive on fanfic and will be removing all of my stories in short order. I do not write for you, I write to let myself escape. I felt I was doing a service by letting people read what I wrote, realizing that no one was forcing you, that if you liked the stories you would read them, otherwise, you would not. I'm sick of people telling me how horrible they thought one of my stories was and how they were going to stop reading it, only to have them then do the same thing for each of the others. Really, how petty and pathetic are you that you have nothing better to do? Publishing here does not allow me to relieve stress, it is actually adding to it. My stories will be posted for one more day or so and then I will take them all down. My experiences here have helped me to understand why the number of new fics on fanfiction.net have decreased so steadily. I will continue to read others' stories and post reviews when I have something positive to say. I would like to shout out to alix33 for consistently offering constructive feedback in a non-insulting manner. For other writers, I recommend you take that user's feedback seriously as it has consistently helped me to improve my stories (from little things like realizing that I had added oblivates to my spell checker, but not obliviate/obliviated and that autocorrect was automatically changing those to oblivates to gently pointing out inconsistencies and pointing out my truly novel contributions). The fanfiction.net community could use many more users like alix33. |
