11/18/12: Been searching again for another job. I wish companies would stop laying off the Admins when they need to do a little cutbacks. We are needed, you know.
I haven't written any fanfiction in awhile. Not sure if I plan to again. I think I became disenchanted with the SVM novels. The last several ones were disappointing and I never finished this last one. Maybe I'll get around to reading it after this last book comes out and I see who Sookie ultimately ends up with.
I've been doing a lot of reading, both urban fantasy and other genres.
Starting on November 1st, I decided to give NANOWRIMO a chance again. As of today, I have approx 30,000 words done. Two years ago, I didn't get anywhere. It's a labor of love and I know to finish the novel, I'll end up going beyond the 50,000 words needed for the writing challenge.
It's called Evade and Capture - girl meets boy, girl witnesses boyfriend ordering the execution of two men, girl ends up in witness protection and finds out her boyfriend was high up in the Russian mafia. Through twists and turns, she ends up on the run, accused of killing a US Marshal; her ex-boyfriend is out of jail on a technicality; both he and the US Marshal's best friend are hot on her trail. Who will find her first, and what will she do when one of them catches up to her?
I have a better synopsis, but that's the gist of it.
My name is Jennifer and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I enjoy reading, listening to music, hanging with my friends, and working with my hands (crafts and such people, get your minds out of the gutter, hehe). I've been enjoying the fiction on this site.
Music is a big inspiration for me. I have such an eclectic taste: classic/soft/hard rock, pop, jazz, opera/classical, country, oldies, new age, r&b, some hiphop, and foreign pop (french, italian, spanish). My favorite rocker will always be Bret Michaels though.
I'm the same way with movies... a very eclectic taste (except for a lot of horror/gore). It would take too long to name my favorites, but some of them include: Memoirs of a Geisha, Gigi, Auntie Mame (w/ Rosalind Russell), Gone With the Wind, Mister Roberts, Operation Petticoat, My Fair Lady, The Nun's Story (yes, a lot of the classics).
I like reading mysteries, true crime, Harry Potter, and some romance. My interest in the supernatural started even before Buffy, Angel, Charmed and Supernatural. The first supernatural book I ever read was about a vampire. It was by the author Wendy Haley called This Dark Paradise. It was followed by the sequel These Fallen Angels.
P.S. I know a lot of people want to follow me on Twitter, but honestly, I only twittered for a month or two, then stopped. You're welcome to follow me, but like I said, I don't really twitter anymore. I have a hard enough time following my email, writing, etc. LOL
I'm a huge Alexander Skarsgård fan (loved Generation Kill). :-) Here's a link to a little tribute video I created and posted on Youtube -

I have to admit though, my first love will always be Gerard Butler. Gawd, the hotness, the accent : :fanning self: :
