I guess you all by now know I love science fiction and heroic fantasy. Well my love affair began back in my childhood and youth. I grew up watching Star Trek, Lost in Space, Invaders, Advengers, Battlestar Galactica (the original), The Six Million Dollar Man, well pretty much all the science fiction shows of the sixties and seventies. Besides them I watched all the cop shows we could get and private dective shows, Hawaii Five-O, Manix, Cannon, SWAT, T. J. Hooker, Miami Vice, etc. I also watched and read many a western too. I got into reading science fiction in the seventies and eighties along with Tom Clancy in the eighties. In the eighties and ninties I had played nearly all versions of pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons, Traveller, Gama World, Role-Master, Space-Master, Paranoia, Recon, Champions, Hero, GURPS, etc. In the 1990s and 2000s I started electronic gaming on my PCs. Currently I play mostly Neverwinter Nights 2 and on occasion Lord of the Rings On Line. For NWN-1 I can be found playing a Drow that goes by my user name here. As for other games I play Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Civilization (Started with Civ 2), Fallout, etc.
I am a perpetual university student. This spring I start working on my Masters of Liberal Studies specializing in Mass Media and History. When it comes to educational subjects I enjoy hard sciences, social sciences, history, applied technologies (Welding, Computers, Video Production, Digital Film Making, and Broadcasting), and the practical application of language arts. The last one is my skill set that needs improvement and always is in a state of improvement. My writings today are a far cry from my earliest writings here or anywhere for that matter. Some still scoff at them, but that goes with the territory.
As for real life activities, well I work finally. It's not in my degree field, I have a BA in Mass Media: Electronic Media. You may say that I am cleaning up in well after the car business. While I am in school I do building maintenance at a local Ford Dealership. Wish I had something in my field, but between the five television stations, the cable service provider, and a couple of video production houses locally the job market for my field is limited. One reason to return to school for me.
Other real life interest include, and not necessarily in this order: Model Railroading, shooting sports, hiking and camping, and minitures war gaming. Those are just some of my other hobbies. I am an advocate or lend my support to LGBT issues, gun owners' rights, and standing up for the liberties of anyone as long as it is protected under the laws of the United States and their territories.
As for my stories, I will complete each and every one of them. It will take time. I have to work around real life, the characters trying to egg me into writing about them, and dang stories just taking over my dreams at night. I know some of you have expressed frustration with my writing, namely that it seemed like it was evolving as I write. Well I get these thoughts in my head about a story and I have to put it into media and then the story just flows. Now don't worry, due to my writing style I never set anything into concrete. The times I pull things have not always been because of a critic with more nastiness to spew than I reread something and knew I must of wrote that when I should have been sleeping or just put it down and would edit later. Well I won't take anything down from now on, but I will replace parts with revised parts as I go. Sometimes there may not be a new chapter, but there will be a revised existing chapter.
