I like a well written AU retelling better than repairing the plot flow in the existing timeline. i highly recommend Lightining on the Wave's Sacrificial Arc retelling of HP... still chills me when i think of the way the Horcruxes were protected by the Rite of Sacrifice.

I'm considering how well a Mordenkainen's disjunction would work against the wards on the Gaunt Shack or the Inferi Lake. might even implement it in my current work, Secret of the Blade

A little clarification is in order. Mordenkainen's disjunction is an extremely high level Dungeons and Dragons spell that destroys all enchantments in a 30 foot radius from the point of impact, leaving the caster's items untouched. It also has a 5% chance that the caster will lose their ability to use magic forever, and a 5% chance that the caster will die after casting it. Also a 5% chance that either the caster or the planet explodes :3
