Author has written 19 stories for Twilight.
I’m old enough to know better, really, but fanfic has become a bit of an obsession for me. Hubs calls it my online boyfriend. Whatever.
I’m constantly amazed by the authors I find online. Three stories in particular brought me into fanfic. I was looking for something to fill in the ‘fade to black’ scenes during the honeymoon and I came across three stories by nightdancers. If you haven’t read Isle Esme, The Second Night and Practice Makes Perfect I swear you’re missing amazing canon style writing. Seriously, she could be Stephenie Meyer. Every detail corresponds to the book. Every detail.
Pet peeve time. I'm not an amazing writer. My grammar is good, not great and far, far from perfect. However, there is one common grammatical error that grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard. Every time I see it my eyes stop in their tracks and I have an overwhelming urge to scream like a banshee. What do people have against the word "me?" I know that, as kids, we were all told to use "I." Mike and I..., Bella and I..., Emmett and I...
There are times, however, when the correct phrase is Mike and me..., Bella and me..., Emmett and me. Here's the hint -- if you can replace the phrase with the word "us" then use "me" instead of "I." If you can replace the phrase with "we" then use "I."
