Author has written 2 stories for Mortal Instruments.
My name is--well, that would be silly, wouldn't it? You can call me rabbitwire, or Rabbit, or Fly, or flyingwyvern, or Cairn; it doesn't matter. My other account on FF.net is flyingwyvern; it's focused mainly on Death Note fanfictions, which I've mostly abandoned...oops.
This account, though, is where I plan to play the fangirl to the Mortal Instruments series. I mean, seriously...I haven't fangirled over a series like this since...since...oh. Hmm. I've never been prone to fangirling, and what series I have loved were usually my private joys; this is the first series I've been able to blabber about to a friend in a long time. Tamora Pierce, maybe?
I like to think that I'm literate, but I will gladly take constructive criticism. In fact, give me a good concrit or even just point out a typo, and I will love you forever. Seriously.
My "real" writing can be found at my deviantart account, where I go by the name of cairnthecrow. Stop by, yes? And tell me if you're from FF.net. :)
I wanted to get started again. My old account feels a bit bogged down by a heavy fic that I'll never finish, so I'm here. Mucking around. Ah, shoot me. That's all for now, though...on to the normal stuff!
Fanfic tastes/ primary fandom: Mortal Instruments. My favorite pairing? Magnus/Alec--and it's actually a canonical, amazing pairing! I was so stunned by the fact that, hey, it's /okay/ to write a pair now. Thank you, Cassandra Clare. But I still prefer canonical stories over everything, and by that, I mean that I like the preservation of the original books' tones: the romance is great and all, and trust me, I love that it's there, but feed me some genfic! I want plot! Danger! Excitement! Most of all, I like my fanfics to be literary. I'll swallow fluff, and I'll endure lemons, but I'll be drumming my fingers on my touchpad and skimming down to what I consider the meat of any story: drama. I use the term loosely, mind. You can enthrall me with a multilayered plotline, you can show me some awesome insights into my favorite characters, or you can capture the tension of a scene, sending the characters to the background but painting a beautifully tense narrative while you do it--I don't care, but make it have a point. I like drabbles because of that; drabbles usually make a (sometimes heavy-handed) point, and I find them easier to deal with than the boggy sorts of multichap fics you're wont to find here on FF.net. I haven't read a multichap TMI fic yet, actually. Hmmmm. Reccomendations? :D
God, I sound pretentious. Forgive me.
The TMI fanfic realm is so limited. I want to contribute! So you'll probably be seeing some things from me. ;) While my favorite character is Magnus Bane, I might toy with some of the others, too. It's just that while TMI was an excellent series, the characters themselves have never really grabbed my attention. They kept me along by sheer force of amazing, entertaining wit, and I liked that. I'm just not sure that I want to write them. Magnus is semi-obscure--a fleshed-out side character, with just enough meat on his metaphorical bones for me to build him up, I think. Again, I'm an arrogant little kid who thinks she can write, when in reality, I probably can't. But it's all about having fun~!
