You may know me by my former penname, Nyala Necheyev. I have changed to the new username (as of January 30th) so as to synch up with my Tumblr account.
I have been writing for several years and reading for several more. I enjoy writing tragedies, one-shots and dark parodies. I do not write lemon, lime, or any other kind of nasty citrus work of pornography. I like to leave my characters dead, but with a little dignity to spare. My hobbies include costume design, cosplay, PC gaming and LARPing.
I would be honored if you would leave a comment on some of my works; many of them are unfinished, due to missing chapters or lack of a decent plot. Please be patient and understanding when you find stories like this in my archives. I have been writing fan fiction and posting it here since I was a teenager, and therefore a lot of the old stories tend to be rather pathetic in my opinion.
As I am a college student taking upper-level courses, all new stories will take time to develop. Each chapter must be polished with a satisfactory shine; my mind will not let me just slap some trash down on a platter for my readers and call it a night. Please do not expect more than one new chapter per week, although I may have good days and surprise you with a bonus update.
Until then, delicious friends,
The Curious Kills
Which of your own stories is your favorite?
"Ceremony of Innocence", a Hogan's Heroes fiction about a Jewish woman and her brother attempting to escape Germany.
Why is it your favorite?
Aside from the fact that I won an award for it, the story has a special place in my heart because it is was inspired by my own family history.
Which of your own stories is your least favorite?
"Spells By Number". It's no longer on the site.
Why is it your least favorite?
It was a Sorcerer's Apprentice challenge fic, and I removed it from the website because what I had written could not properly be called anything other than garbage.
If a person wanted to read all of your fics, where would you suggest they begin?
Either with "Ceremony of Innocence" or "Meeting Gin". Both stories are fair examples of me at my best and worst.
Which genres do you love to write for?
Tragedy, Suspense and Angst.
Which genres would you never write for?
Spiritual, Romance, and Poetry.
Which genres do you want to write for but haven't yet?
When writing, do you turn your music on or off?
Off. I have to be able to hear what I'm writing in my head, and when music is playing, even if it's instrumental, my head is filled with all of that and I have trouble concentrating.
If you could pick a themesong for your latest fan fiction, what it be?
Either "Almost Human" by Voltaire or "Unfamiliar" by The Birthday Massacre. My latest fan fiction is "Deserved".
Which song would best describe you as a person and an author?
"A Way Into Your Heart" by Steam Powered Giraffe.
Which song is your favorite to wake up to?
"One Way Ticket" by Steam Powered Giraffe. It's so happy and optimistic while still holding that steampunk twinge.
Which song is your favorite to sleep to?
"Graveyard Picnic" by Voltaire. It's very quiet and reassuring.
What do you want to do with your life?
Finish my Psychology Major, obtain a TESL license and teach English in either Israel or South Korea.
Which book(s) inspired you most as a child?
Avner Gold's "Ruach Ami" series, C. S. Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia" series and Isaac Asimov's collected short stories.
Is there anything you wish your readers would do more of?
I would love to get more reviews and feedback from my readers. It means so much to me when they take the time to write a few sentences describing what I could do better or worse about the story. It was the reviews that kept me writing "Ceremony of Innocence"; without them, it would have been just another discontinued fan fiction that never got finished.
