Yes, the Betrayer strikes again. Where have we been, you might ask? Right here, painfully slogging away to get this chapter completed. But let me tell you, there's nothing like actual honest-to-goodness employment to keep you away from writing. By which I mean to say, I got a job! A real one, too, not anything temporary. Which means I can pay my way and sock away a little extra something to boot. I've also had to learn how to manage my time more effectively.
Which brings us back to here. Tomas regrets making you all wait so long to find out how the next stage of 'Lifted Up' might go. Actually, I feel a little like George R. R. Martin, in the sense that what I planned to be only one chapter wound up getting split into two. And no, that does not mean the next one is written and ready for uploading. It'll take time, but I'm getting better at juggling my priorities. You wouldn't want poor Tomas to get fired just so you can read our stories, would you? Well, even if you would, it ain't gonna happen.
I have a few more tales I've been hankering to work on besides this one. Now that the 'Soul Eater' manga is finished (and quite unsatisfactorily, I might add. Whatever happened to Ragnarok anyway?), we plan to write a sort of epilogue to our fic in that category, 'Thanatophile'. Just as a salute to Shinigami-sama (our hat's off to you, big guy). Also I'd like to see about trying my hand at a little humor again. Can't be all serious and heartfelt, you know?
So anyways, thanks for sticking with me, folks. Hope it doesn't disappoint. There's a lot going on in this arc. I challenged myself to include a whole mess of viewpoints, and it's proving quite difficult and taxing. But I'm sure you'll let me know whether or not I succeeded. Must go now, they're predicting a blizzard in my neck of the woods. May the New Year bring you wondrous stories to both read and share, dear readers! Pleasant dreams.
