Okay, so here's the deal. Tomas originally intended to end this arc of 'Lifted Up' with the latest chapter. However, it was getting way too long for me. So out of consideration for all you wonderful readers, I've decided to split it into two chapters and let you have the first one while I keep working on the second. Isn't that fine? Aren't I wonderful? Sheesh, now I know how George R. R. Martin felt.
I'm rather pleased with how this story is turning out. It's going exactly the way I envisioned so many years ago, although I never expected it to take this long. Still, with a new year there comes new opportunities for me to set unrealistic deadlines! So we hope to finish this arc within the next month. Fingers crossed and all that. The arc after this one will finally feature the long-anticipated battle between the Kurosaki clan and the power of the Wild Hunt. In addition, the identity of the Vizard traitor will be revealed. The list of potential suspects has narrowed, so have fun guessing who it is! Not the biggest mystery Tomas has presented, we know, but try to have fun with it all the same.
Some of you might wonder, is fan fiction dying out? Are people just not reading anymore? Is any work we do mainly for our own benefit? I can't speak for all of you, but I write these stories into the wee hours of the night because I want to tell them, and I share them here because I think you might get some enjoyment out of them as well. 'Bleach' being officially over stands as a reminder that fan fiction serves a purpose, which is to give us poor aficionados the opportunity to continue having new experiences with our old favorites. Sure, we could move on and find other books, TV shows and movies to flock around. Yet let us not abandon those fine works that have supported us up 'til now. I'm proud to craft writing that has moved people in the past. With any luck, Tomas will continue to do so in the future. Lift your glasses and embrace the excellent efforts of all these amateur writers! My best to you, and here's wishing you pleasant dreams.
