Favorite Stories Harry/Draco Someone aka Me's Definitely Impossible - Post-Hogwarts. Harry and Draco are Auror partners. Brilliantly in character, great balance between their growing relationship and the crime plot. Notable for Harry and Draco's first date being in a bowling alley. Unfortunately, this fic seems to be going downhill after a brilliant start. WIP Naadi's Checkmate - My brain does a remarkable impression of George Takai saying Oh My while reading this fic. A lot. Time Travel Altered Destinies - Simply, the best time travel fic I've encountered. Harry adopts a young Tom Riddle and joins the fight against Grindelwald as a badass Unspeakable. Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Futures Past - Harry goes back to his 11 yr old self with a 30 yr old's memories. Do over fic but the author does a good job of investigating the psychological ramifications of time travel on Harry and how changes will affect his friends. Unfortunately WIP and slow updates. Timely Errors - an accident sends Harry back to the Marauder Era for a few days. Highly enjoyable portrayals of school-age James, Lily and the Marauders. Darkcyan's Coexistence - an intriguingly unusual time travel fic where Harry sacrifices himself and bounces back and forth between his present and an AU Marauder era as a spirit who possesses various other characters over the course of the fic. I'm not sure I can describe how awesome this fic is. Ebenbild's Basilisk-born - this is the mother of all ambitious time-travel fics. Harry is sent back in time to Merlin's era and travels back the hard way, day by day. A blend of Arthurian & Celtic druid mythology frames the interesting characterization that a 2000 yr old Harry becomes. The fic employs a split timeline much like A World Apart. WIP, and copious odd spelling mistakes. The Fictionist's Fate's Favorite - a school age Tom Riddle and his friends time travel to Harry's 6th year. While Harry and Tom's relationship is like nothing else, the fic loses its way after a brilliant start and proceeds to blunder about for about 200K words more than necessary. Emysabath's Time to Spare - Harry and Draco get sent back 20 years into the past. Spying on the Death Eaters, a Mastery in Spellsmithing, studying magical creatures and royally trolling Voldemort, oh my. Notable for Draco and Harry's enduring friendship with Severus. Artist111"s Harry Potter and the Veil of Death - Harry walks to his death as the 7th horcrux and gets sent back in time to the day of Sirius's death. After faking his own death, he takes the fight to Voldemort. It's totally over-the-top emo, but somehow manages thoroughly entertaining. Robst's You're My Density - Likely Robst's most serious and well-written attempt to date, 20 yr old Harry and Hermione are sent back in time to the troll incident in first year. Prior to this, Harry had gotten himself obliviated and thrown out of the magical world at the underage magic trial. Robst keeps the rabid Harry/Hermione to quite manageable levels in this fic, as well as toning down the crazy run-on sentences present in Harry Crow. Notable for an obliviated Lockhart/Voldemort combo. Blueowl's To Shape and Change - Snape goes back in time after the battle against Volde goes wrong in order to become a young Harry's mentor. Harry becomes adept at healing parselmagic. The ending is a bit rushed but otherwise the pacing and characterization is very enjoyable. Voice of the Nephilim's The Unforgiving Minute - 27-yr old Harry travels back in time to the day of the Third Triwizard task to destroy all of Voldie's horcruxes and end the war before it really starts, all within 12 hours. This fic zips along with breathless non-stop action as a grim, determined Harry wades through dark and light characters alike like something out of a Jason Bourne film. Clever flashbacks interspersed throughout paint how the Harry we know comes to be walking the path we find him on. Well-written and awfully realistic. E4mj's Travel Secrets series - adult Harry travels back in time to do his Hogwarts years over again, this time as a Slytherin. The political maneuvering is riotously entertaining. Lot of interesting OCs, rituals and side plots. DebsTheslyntherinSnapeFan's The Games They Play - bitter, war-scarred 34 yr old Harry is hit by a stray spell and bodily thrown back in time to the summer after 4th year. He sets up shop as Blake Slytherin, promptly adopts his younger self and sets about trying to change things for the better, much to Dumbledore's consternation. Harry aka Blake pulls absolutely no punches and lets every adult around him know just how they've failed his "ward" Harry. Severus gravitates to this dark, competent, powerful fighter like a moth to a flame, and their ensuing borderline romance is one of the highlights of this fic. WIP WBWL Desertrose's Family Bonds - the only WBWL fic I've run across worth a damn. Harry's twin Adrian is mistaken as the BWL and the Potter parents survive. The fic focuses on Harry's relationship to Severus (father/son) and their adventures together are enjoyable. The events mirror canon closely at first and slowly diverge. Harry isn't over-powered. Draco and Neville become his close friends. Also, sexy!Snape (!!). WIP The Sinister Man's HP and the Prince of Slytherin - a WBWL fic. Solid pacing and creative plot points while still reasonably following canon framework. Harry's character in this fic is very static and serves predominantly as a wise-cracking narrator moving the plot action along, while the supporting cast develop as characters around him. Jim, Harry's brother is becoming a very intriguing character, Neville and Theo Nott also. WIP. Dimension Hopping Cheekypandagurl's Destiny Reversed - Harry winds up in an alternative world where his parents' didn't die and Neville is the BWL. One of the best written examples of this genre I've found. Harry's initial confusion and the differences in canon character personalities are very convincing. Asrai's Fire on Darkness - Harry swaps dimensions with a counterpart who is in love with Snape. Short but packs a fair punch. missmusicluver's To Call A Place Home - Harry has defeated Voldemort, only to be kidnapped by Dumbledore from another dimension to do so again. The Potters are alive in the new dimension. Harry is at his most compelling when interacting with his pseudo younger brother Jonathan and James Potter. WIP. Fyreheart's Stranger in a too Familiar Land - Harry is drawn into a dimension where Tom Riddle isn't insane and is a political player instead. Fyreheart does a terrific job portraying Harry's struggles to adapt to a much quieter existence filled the people who died in his world. WIP and possibly abandoned unfortunately. JadeLMSkywalker's Destiny's Ghost - Harry doesn't believe in divination. He's also a dimension-hopping seer. This fic is extraordinarily well written, honestly publishable level. It's incredibly unfortunate it's unfinished and apparently abandoned. Harry's interaction with Severus and his interesting supernatural relationship with his alternate dimension younger siblings makes the fic well worth the read. cosette-aimee's A Necessary Gift - Harry dies and winds up as a 10 yr old in a dimension where his counterpart died in a car crash at age 5. Getting himself blood-adopted by Sirius, Harry rebrands himself Orion Black and takes on Voldy and the horcruxes with his knowledge. It's well written if a tad slow moving. Lomonaaren's World in Pieces - Harry is pulled into an alternate dimension, where its original Harry has died, and the Order keeps pulling replacements through to fight Voldemort. Harry's nuanced characterization is only made stronger by the altered versions of the characters around him. Watching alternate Snape and Harry come to understand and respect one another is a pleasure. kathryn518's I'm Still Here - this one is a combination time-travel & dimension-hopping fic. A war-experienced adult Harry (and Draco) follow Voldemort to another dimension. Harry appears in a 15 yr-old body. He's over-powered but with a believable setup. Under the guardianship of the Flamels, Harry takes to causing maximum disruption to the Tri-wizard tournament. I enjoy how Harry is powerful but still deeply flawed emotionally and socially. WIP Hyllian's On a Pale Horse - Dumbledore summons Harry out of an alternate dimension and to his chagrin, receives a mostly insane Master-of-Death instead. WIP and possibly abandoned. Crack Fic/Guilty Pleasures Harry Potter and the Last Straw - Harry sits up and takes charge of his life. An honest to god, feel-good Dumbledore and Hermione ass whumping. It gets a bit...lost plot-wise, but is still a lot of fun. Aduro's The Code Breaker series - Draco is befriended by Bill Weasley over a mutual passion for runes. Notable for Draco & Harry's escape from broom-riding Death Eaters in a Cadillac convertible. Fabulously dysfunctional genius Draco. Sarah1281's When in Doubt, Obliviate - Gilderoy Lockhart intercepts Harry after he's laid on the Dursley's doorstep and raises him as his own. Oh god. Robst's Banking on Her - Harry/Hermione, we-must-make-a-baby-to-defeat-Voldemort. Seriously? Oh, who cares about plot xD Robst's No Hurry at All - more hopeless Hermione-damsel-in-distress fic but it's so goddamn fun to read. Miz636's Alpha series - Harry arrives at Hogwarts and unites his year through the unrealistic (for his age) use of logic and extended use of magical journals which work much like the magical equivalent of an internet chat room. Does feature some OOC characterizations, but the dynamic of Harry's inter-house group of friends is quite enjoyable. Blueowl's Harry Potter: Dark Memories - Harry and friends invent another group called the Custosae de Lux to fight Voldy. This fic is well-paced and fun to read despite some rather glaring problems like children acting more mature than adults at supposed ages 11-14 and Dumbledore seemingly just rolling over and ignoring his own Order to happily follow Harry's around. Dumbledore and Harry/Mage's relationship of equals also seems highly improbable. Toki Mirage's Bloody Skies - 5th year AU where Harry bails on Hogwarts and goes to another school filled with vampires, weres, demons, etc. Toki does an excellent job at creating an entire school filled with original characters and coursework, and keeps the plot zipping along as Harry attracts a truly awe-inspiring amount of trouble. Harry is over-powered but enjoyably not perfect. The fic is an entertaining read until the last 1.5 chapters after which the author clearly got bored and promptly jumped the shark. Rorschach Blot's Make a Wish - This. Fic. Is. Insane. Harry goes off on globe-trotting vacation and through a series of completely wacky events, gains a rep as international man of mystery Mr. Black and manages to accidentally learn enough to defeat Voldie. Totally entertaining. Perfect Lionhart's Partially Kissed Hero - apparently Lionhart and Rorschach's Blot know one another, which explains the level of crack. This fic is low on the coherent plot and high on tangential lunacy. Perfect Lionhart broke the HP universe and my brain on a fairly regular chapterly basis. He enjoys digging into Rowling's universe plot-holes and analyzing the economic and political ramifications of things. The resulting fic rambles about a lot like Tolkien and pipe-weed. It also gets crazier as it goes. I pretty much gave up with when space travel, polygamy and nuclear armageddon got involved. MK-ONE's From the Shadows - crack fic at its finest. Give Harry super powers and turn him rogue and you get this fic. Featuring a hilarious pet dragon-turned-golf-caddy named Heath Cliff. Lolagirl's A World Apart - Draco/Hermione - Hermione was murdered by a Death Eater. This fic uses a split timeline to marvelous effect, bouncing between Draco attempting to deal with his grief after Hermione's death to witnessing the events prior and leading up to Hermione's murder effortlessly. Watching Draco slowly fall in love with Hermione only made the impending tragedy more heartbreaking. This really is Draco's tale. Lolagirl captures his ornery personality well. Unfortunately, the fic starts out far stronger than it finishes. The introduction of a dimension-traveller is really unnecessary. Still worth a read. PseudonymousEntity's Adventures in Magick - Pseudo's Harry is amoral genius curiosity personified. The result takes a blowtorch to the canon universe. So many interesting moral questions and branches of magic to explore! WIP AU Kurinoone's The Darkness Within - Harry is abducted and raised by Voldemort as a baby. The Potters meanwhile have a second son. Surprisingly believable semidark!Harry and his journey back to his family. The sequels are hopeless. Notable for his younger brother Damien. Epsilon Scorpi's The Second Chance - an AU set in Kurinoone's The Darkness Within universe. Epsilon is the better writer. Greengecko's Resonance - a Harry is Snape's adopted son story. Their ensuing relationship is well written and enjoyable. Lucky's In Servitude to the Dark series - Harry is mentored by Horcrux Voldemort and becomes adopted by Snape. Lucky's depiction of dark magic is a joy to read. A smart semidark!Harry fic. Etherian's Nobody Cared - Harry is adopted by Snape and sorted into Slytherin. Dumbledore is terrifyingly insidious in this fic. Snape, who takes to being Harry's devoted father, allies with Lucius Malfoy to defeat both Dumbledore's manipulations and Voldemort. Harry's role is downplayed but Snape more than makes up it. Silverfawkes's Sirius' Savior - On that fateful Halloween night, Sirius doesn't go after Pettigrew but takes Harry and runs. He raises Harry abroad and total insanity ensues. I love the international magical cultures and action in this fic, and Sirius's love interest is a totally awesome squib OC. Marj123's Sacrifice for the Side of the Light - Albus, for the Greater Good, delivers Harry to Voldemort as a virgin sex ritual object. Harry succeeds in reversing the tables on Voldy, but the good guys keep Harry a prisoner. Insidious and horrifying, but totally within the realm of possibility. Marj's wizarding world is utterly beyond saving and Harry's fight for survival against all the people who would enslave or kill him plays out something like Highlander. The remainder of the trilogy is good but the original piece is the best. Hermyd's Harry Potter and Godric's Legacy - A vaguely superpowered!Harry fic. Harry/Ginny. Voldy has been prolonging his life with a ritual involving killing a pregnant young woman and offering the soul of the unborn child in his place. The final solution the light side comes up with is heartwarming. Fayr Warning's Reign of Power - grey!Harry is a survivor determined to outlast both Dumbledore and Voldemort. Contacts in unusual places, political fun in the Wizengamot, action, this fic has it all. The Best Revenge - another Snape adopts Harry fic. I enjoyed this author's no nonsense approach to the events in canon because with Snape in charge, there's simply way less stupidity. Ten Toes's Two Sides of the Same Coin - out of all the really good unfinished stories out there, this one bugs me the worst. Petunia becomes Harry's reluctant ally in improving his childhood home situation. His primary school teachers chat about him over beers. The setup is marvelous for an epic coming of age story but it's unfinished. White Angel of Auralon's Muggleborn Teacher - while not quite on par with the story listed above, this one operates on the premise that one of Harry's primary school teachers was a Muggleborn and basically adopts Harry. There appears to be a side-plot in progress addressing inequality in the magical world as well. WIP. RossWrock's - HP and the Power of Time - this fic starts with the often-done premise that Harry gets sick of the Order's complete ineffectualness and trains himself with a time turner. Ross's (sadly WIP) work is nearly 500K words and maintains solid pacing throughout. Notable for Harry's magical menagerie of Death Eaters imprisoned within his trunk. Robst's Harry Crow - Cons: characters are two dimensional, lack in character growth. Pacing problems as the fic continues. Pros: vibrant, imaginative universe where Harry is abandoned by the Dursleys at Gringotts and is raised by goblins. Robst excelled at delving into the politics and culture of the goblin race while answering what would change if a wizard-born Harry considers himself a goblin. Annerb's The Changling - this one gets an honorable mention as it's the only depiction of Ginny I've ever liked. Ginny is sorted into Slytherin. She's dark and edgy and in keeping with someone irrevocably touched by evil at a young age. The depiction of Harry from an outside point of view is also very well done. For the first time, I saw a meeting of equals in that relationship. Ulktante's Benefits of old laws - Riddle's rebirth brings about his return to sanity. Sane!Riddle promptly sets about taking over the world politically instead of megalomaniacally. A recently discovered familial connection leads him to adopt Harry, much to the chagrin of the rest of the light side. To everyone's confusion, Sane!Riddle takes to parenthood like a duck to water. This fic is 700K words at this point and showing no real signs of tapering off in quality. Notable for the slow-build family dynamic between Marvolo & Harry, Marvolo's friendship between Bill Weasley. WIP Character Studies Jedi Rita's Becoming Neville - a Neville-centric fic revolving around Neville's 16th summer and learning things might not be what they appear with his parents' condition. A sly sleeper of a fic where watching Neville come of age is a pleasure. He's not perfect and neither is Harry, who plays a secondary role in the fic. Rita also wisely stays away from providing a saccharine sweet ending. Wishweaver's Realizations - an intriguing premise I'm surprised hasn't been done before: the Dursleys just up and leave the country, leaving Harry behind to fend for himself. What follows is an extraordinary journey of self-discovery for just about everybody. Likely abandoned but well-worth the read. Melethril - Building Bridges - Harry grows up in an orphanage instead of the Dursleys. He is a beloved and respected member of his little orphanage family, but the system left its mark on him. Melethril's Harry is different from canon but so strongly portrayed, complete with a fascinating set of goblin-learned mannerisms. WIP, and slowest updates on earth. Bloodpage-Alchemist's A Time for Change - Harry runs from the Dursleys on finding Dudley is a changeling. He stumbles over the real Dudley, a werewolf teen, and they befriend one another before knowing they are cousins. On finding out they are related, the blood wards kick in, protecting Harry from those searching for him. This fic is not without its plot problems, but it excels in characterization, notably Bathilda Bagshot, Thomas Callahan & Snape. The outsider's perspective of Snape and his friendship with Callahan alone makes this fic worth a read. Luckei1's We Learned the Sea - this is a marvelous Draco fic. Draco turns himself into the ministry with a crazy plan to defeat Voldemort after a successful career as a Death Eater. Harry takes him up on it. Very few authors pull off a decent characterization of Draco. Luckei's Draco is raw and imperfect and it's marvelous. I'm not much of a Hermione/Draco fan but the love story that develops is achingly real. Avatar Arkmage and Nigel T's Remembrance and Renewal - This fic has a totally brilliant premise but it's execution leaves something to be desired. Harry is grievously abused by the Dursleys and goes on a spiritual walkabout and learns Severus is his father. He interacts Severus and his mother at various points in their past as what they call a "preborn angel." Upon waking up from his injuries, Harry promptly sets out to convince Severus of their newly found relationship. WIP and likely abandoned. Notable for Harry (deaged into a 6 yr old) describing how Severus' rolling onto him will somehow cause World War III. The whole deaging thing was an awful plot device. Severusphoenix's 3 Slytherin Mauraders - The premise is dubious: Petunia and Dudley see reason and escape an abusive Vernon with Harry prior to Harry's 11 birthday. They become the wards of Severus on a dragon reserve. Severus promptly recruits Lucius to his cause. The pair of them figure out what's going on and run rings around Albus's usual kill-Harry plots with entertaining results. Also features a resurrected Riddle-diary horcrux with a dragon in his head keeping him on the straight and narrow. This is very much an ensemble piece. The plot sticks a bit too slavishly to cannon for my liking but there's sufficient creativity in the dragon reserve and the OCs characterization to hold my interest. Diary Tom Riddle is easily my favorite character. Unfortunately, he appears to have been transplanted into Harry's role with the heroics and upcoming angsty martyr death. SnowWhiteOwl's Psychosis - With a premise I can't believe hasn't been done before, the Horcrux attempts to possess Harry from an early age, leading him to continually harm himself. The Dursleys' believe Harry insane and requires psychotropic drugs. A severely drugged Harry arrives at Hogwarts with hilarious results as the magical world hasn't the foggiest clue about mental illness nor that Harry might have come to harm from having a Horcrux in his head. Snape is the only person to attempt to help, along with awesome OC muggle Dr Green. The ensuing relationship is heartwarming. SingularOddities's Escape - an unusual piece that starts out with a cliched premise involving the Ministry passing a forced marriage law, giving Hermione the supposed choice of marrying Draco or Snape. Hermione chooses option C and bails out of the country, Harry in tow. The fic then focuses on Snape and McGonagal, who, alongside the twins, wage a quiet war against the Horcruxes and encroaching discrimination against the Muggleborn. This is very much a character piece and it's dark tone and the mature working relationship between Snape and McGonagal is very enjoyable. WIP. SensiblyTainted's Broken Mind, Fractured Soul - Harry was abused so badly, he develops Multiple Personality disorder. The author is adept as psychology, so his fic is detailed, believable and well-written. Severus and Remus try to help, while Dumbledore sees a perfect weapon. The reader comes to feel for each of the alternate personalities and then cheer when Harry merges and becomes a blend. Not for the faint of heart: physical and sexual abuse. Notable for an abused, mentally disturbed but still strong Neville with elemental powers. Secre's I Did Nothing - a character-driven ensemble piece narrated by Minerva following the events of first year. Harry and other children, while obviously present, are mere cameos while the action occurs behind-the-scenes among the adult teachers. Secre excels at character-development, almost to the point where her characters are so compelling as to develop their own gravitational pull. Notable for an amazing depiction of Severus, and several show-stopping scenes involving Bathilda Bagshot and the Weasley twins. Stardustwarrior2991's Novocaine - set directly after the war, this fic follows Harry and a gaggle of supporting cast as they try to rebuild magical society. Meanwhile, Harry slowly falls in love with Daphne Greengrass. Interesting organizational and political manuvering, slow build romance. WIP Royal Ward - the basic premise is Harry becomes a Royal Ward of the Queen, and that serves as an catalyst for change from canon. I enjoy Harry's muggleborn tutor Stephen and the interaction between Sirius and Princess Diana. WIP Shaydral's The Merging - Handling the Horcruxes leads Harry to assimilate them into himself with self-destructive results. This story excels in the characterization area. Not so much Harry, but a lot of the supporting cast around him. Notable for the mother-son relationship between Harry and Narcissa. Creatures Fyreheart's Dragonkin - as the name implies, Harry is adopted by a dragon clan. It's Harry/Draco and Draco is veela, which I thought a bit unnecessary, but the dragon culture and skills bring some added vitality to the usual kill-Volde proceedings. Manatocfox's Growing up Kneazle - Harry accidentally transforms himself into a Kneazle as a toddler and stays that way until he is supposed to go to Hogwarts. This results in him adopting the mentality of a kneazle with hilarious results. Lastcrazyhorn's Burnt - this fic is difficult to categorize. Harry arrives at Hogwarts with debilitating injuries from a car crash from when he was 7. This Harry gets sorted into Slytherin. He is abused but not broken and the fic intelligently explores the difficulties he would suffer given his injuries without unnecessary angst. Dumbledore's manipulations eventually culminates in involuntarily transforming Harry into a half-dragon to be his weapon. WIP. Notable for a Snape/Moody alliance as Harry's new guardians. Revisit Silverfawkes's Trust is a Relative Thing - WIP, another awesome entry from Silverfawkes. Harry is a Slytherin but instead of the usual transplant Harry into a different dorm, Harry is realistically depicted as darker and more cunning. Notable features: a kickass Neville and multiple interesting OCs. Myst Shadow's Forging the Sword - Ginny dies in the Chamber of Secrets, causing the trio to study more on their own and trust adults less. The darker characterization is well within the realm of possibility. WIP and possibly abandoned. devilblondie's Shadowed Soul - this is one of those fics where you have to modify the author's stated age for Harry to make it work. Harry runs away from the Dursleys and is trained as an assassin. He comes back and carries out hits on Death Eaters. devilblondie has done an admirable job of creating a powerful, captivating and experienced Harry much on par with Midnightblue's Harry from Mirror of Maybe. The only problem is there's absolutely no way the character as written can be aged 17. I assumed 28 and enjoyed the fic greatly. Also features a worthwhile Draco. Unfortunately WIP and possibly abandoned. BC's Visionary - This fic ate me alive. Harry accidentally travels back in time to meet, fall in love and marry Tom Riddle. The bond provides a plausible explanation for both Voldemort's intervening insanity and Harry's survival from the killing curse. On returning to his rightful place in time, Harry takes up his place as newly sane!Riddle's consort and they attempt to change wizarding society together. Both the adult relationship between Tom and Harry and the ongoing logistical nightmare such an undertaking would comprise are uttering captivating to watch. WIP Brigade's Enveloped in Darkness - Slytherin Harry draws the attention of Lucius Malfoy, Snape & Quirrelmort and not in a bad way within days of entering the wizarding world. Solid writing, interesting rituals, lacks irritating angst. Notably features femaleshoefetish!Cedric? WIP. Deco's By Baker Street Station, I Sat Down and Wept - Petunia's POV. Petunia manages to get rid of Vernon. Dudley is a wizard, and together, the three of them navigate the insanity that is Hogwarts and the wizarding world. Deco has nailed Petunia's caustic voice pretty well. It's supposedly Severitas but it's slow-moving. Cheyla's The Son's Silence and the Serpent's Secret - A slow-moving character driven story where a Slytherin Harry comes to terms with the fact he is the secret love child of Snape ... and James Potter. The fic stays close to canon in events but the characterization of all the Slytherins is interesting. WIP VivyPotter's Wear Me Like A Locket Around Your Throat - a slow moving fic where Harry time travels back to 1942 and ends up attending Hogwarts alongside Tom Riddle. Harry/Tom. Tom is very well characterized, as are the Slytherin characters around them. WIP Excited-Insomiac's Three Black Birds - WIP, WBWL. Harry's canon character is replaced with brother Tom, while he is two years older, and runs his own trio in Ravenclaws. This author follows the Potters are alive but neglect Harry approach, and does it with less melodrama than a number of other attempts I've read. Notable for flamboyant tutor Master Jerome, matching Crow tattoos whitedandelion's Your Name on My Heart - the soulbond trope usually spawns hopeless drivel. This is one the the best examples I've ever seen of the trope. AU where Harry is brother to James Potter, and soulbonded to Tom Riddle, a much older man, which makes for a slightly uncomfortable relationship. There's a deified Magic running around, and the couple's struggle to maneuver out from under Magic's control provides the action for most of the fic. WIP with very slow updates. Other phoenix catcher's Cast between worlds - WIP. HP/SGA crossover, but honestly the author could have completely dispensed with the HP link and written Harry as an OC in SGA. Told from Harry's POV, the fic gets off to a shaky start setting up the premise, but this fic is rip-roaring ballbuster as soon as the action moves to Atlantis. Phoenix catcher excels at world and character building, and clearly possesses enough working knowledge of military life to depict believable action. Unfortunately, it became obvious that the author didn't particularly know what to do with the interesting universe they'd just created. Plot is a bit..light and aimless. Still the best of this particular crossover genre that I've seen despite the problems. |
