Author has written 7 stories for EastEnders, CSI, Harry Potter, MI-5/Spooks, and Jurassic Park.
I'm Sophie, I live in England - have done my whole life :)
I love writing romantic fics for TV couples..
Okay, so I've not written many fics, but the ones I have have involved either of my two favourite TV couples:
- Nick & Catherine (CSI:Vegas) - or - Ronnie & Jack (Eastenders)
For those of you who have read my fics, you may notice I follow a storytelling pattern - involving flashbacks as a way of getting different character's reactions to one event, whether its over one, two, maybe even four chapters in the story. Either way most chapters, particularly in "Congratulations" have at least one flashback per chapter. Which is always in italics :)
Nick and Catherine have this whole 'forbidden love' thing going on. Well to me they do..
They get some golden scenes together in the TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, so I figured if the writers of the show arent going to do anything about it, then why don't I? Hence why I wrote "Congratulations". (For my own sanity really).
As much as I would love for Nick to throw caution to the wind and scoop Catherine up in his arms on her final day as a CSI, to tell her that he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her, and for them to kiss passionately as the scene closes to credits, I know it will never happen...
I love writing those two and the sexual tension that can arrive from any situation they seem to get themselves into. I try to keep as true to the character's personality and work-related situations as possible, just so fans of the show like the story just as much as watching the episodes (hopefully).
The whole Ronnie & Jack thing was enjoyable to write too, my idea of creating a brand new character like Jessica meant that writing them dealing with the aftermath of Danielle etc was fresh and new as opposed to the usual moping that people tend to write about - which is understandable as it was how Ronnie grieved in the show.
It's fun to find connections between well loved characters thanks to a less-known character that the reader can hopefully learn to love too.
I'm hoping to continue with the Jessica story soon as she's a character I've grown to love. Though the drive had been initially to write Ronnie & Jack together, this had been written back in the day when the couple werent together, so it was a story to feed my hunger for a couple I love so much. As it stands [on 9th Jan 2011] they are currently married, and are unknowingly surrounded in a controversial 'minor' baby-swap storyline..
I've never been much of a writer, but always been a daydreamer. Every chapter I write I have usually envisioned it at some point during the day and desperately written it on my laptop in the evening for it to become a more perminant thing. I'm a bit of a perfectionist too, constantly doing read-throughs until I'm sure the chapter is okay to go out into fanfiction.
And I never like a chapter to be in the 1000 word-count zone. I feel as though I'm cheating the readers of my story. If I do an update, I want it to be worthwhile!
Always looking on the bright side is how I get through everyday with a smile on my face :) live life to the full folks!
