Welcome to my page. Let me start off by offering my most sincere greetings for taking your time to visit it.
Hello there, Soldier of the Future here to give you a warm welcome for checking out my page for starters. Currently, I live in Canada but the dull lifestyle here makes me want to travel more often. Yes, I had inspirations to be a soldier when I was younger but my physical limits prevent that. Still, it's a possibility, perhaps a very strong one, in the future.
...yes, I know war is a horrible thing and I do not embrace and glorify it. My stories, at least the ones that relate to the subject, are supposed to tell the horrors of warfare and the effects it has on those who unfortunately have to participate in it.
In terms of writing stories, being original in your own sense is very important. It is alright if you "borrow" and share ideas but it wouldn't hurt to ask for permission. Sure, the real world is all about who lies the best and deceives the most people...it's not the case here.
Yes, I have been a victim of this (having similarities in other well-known stories and pulling references from both fictional and real life sources. You'll know why if you read my fics), but I am not ashamed one bit. No one is a perfect writer. No one will be able to become excellent on their own without the aid of other fellow authors and their other creations. No one can be successful on the first try.
In terms of a fanfic, I personally prefer long fics around the 10,000 words per chapter mark, but as long as your story is readable and legible, I'll deem it as acceptable. Action, good character development and dialogue, and (optional) lots of violence are personally the things that get me really pumped up. Things I personally and generally despise are overly sexual fics that are just WRONG (though I don't care what you like as long as you don't shoehorn it into my eyes), terrible grammar (there is no excuse here), and an awful, confusing story in general with no end at the light of the tunnel.
You can't just go "I'll write a story and make it a success!" and hope you'd actually succeed. It takes patience, dedication, support, and lots of willpower to ensure a story turns out to be successful. I guess that's why many fics never see completion here...of course, I've fallen into such an inescapable trap before.
Being a brief yet descriptive reviewer, I try to point out the positives but also focus on the negatives, but in a constructive way. Don't be discouraged if I give you a tiny review. This probably means I have nothing much to say. A long-ass one usually means I've got a lot to say, and that your story is grade AAAA in my eyes. I do not tolerate flames or offensive reviews, so don't think I'll treat you kindly should you choose that perilous path.
As my beta put it bluntly once, "this site is full of dunderheads". It may sound harsh but it's reality.
I'm a writer that places strong emphasis on descriptions, careful attention to grammar and spelling, and overall plot. When it comes to thinking outside the box, I usually accomplish that easily. However, with strengths comes weaknesses and I am rather mediocre in the name and characterization department. Demotivation is also a dangerous obstacle but I do whatever I can to overcome it. It just wouldn't be worth it watching a well-developed story hit the trash just because I lacked motivation to continue.
I've got too many likes and dislikes to name. If you want to know more, badger me via messaging and I will definitely respond. I will not reply back if I think your account is just made to spam me with trash. I don't care how much money you make at home for sitting around like a useless piece of fat, how many free offers you got by filling out a survey that inevitably gave your rig a virus, or how many STD-infested whores your friend has stuffed in his hangout.
While I may be a humble and modest person, do not test me. Don't go out of the way to send me an offensive message just so you can satisfy your sadistic side. I know I sound harsh, but as some anonymous reviews dictated, it happens more than you think.
If you think this profile is excessively long, it is due to the character profiles below. In addition, I do not own the profile picture or any content here that isn't made by me personally.
I am also a part-time beta reader. As for the time being, I beta read stories for Arceus-Master, Dustchu, and Starlightz. Should you need assistance with your writing, I will gladly help out-send me a PM. Despite the fact my writing skills aren't exactly at their prime (at least compared to the times before I finished university), I will nevertheless help out to the best of my abilities.
Stories currently in production:
Pokemon Heroes: Uprising: Currently in full-scale production, no signs or a deadline for completion yet. While it has some OCs, I plan to keep it as original as possible while making it far more exciting, action packed, and violent than the anime-compares more to the manga, due to the level of violence, darkness, and gore. Expect some military action such as large-scale warship battles. An unofficial sequel to the movie Pokemon Heroes, possesses a somewhat alternate universe reference but will nevertheless stick with the anime (especially the movies, in particular).
For those who question the unlikelihood of firearms and military weapons in a Pokemon story, well...this is a more mature outtake on the Pokemon series. How the heck would Team Rocket consider themselves a military/criminal organization if their elites do not wield heavy artillery? This is what happens when you cater to the children far TOO much.
Which side of the Uprising will you align yourself with? Where were you when it all began?
Legendary hero? Soldier of fate? Illicit mercenary? Corrupt official? Merciless commando? Zealous cultist? Pokemon trainer? Nomadic Pokemon? Human soldier? Arcean warrior?
Choose your allegiance, pledge your loyalty, lock and load. The Uprising has begun.
Special thanks goes out to Tendou Souji (props goes to him as he's my current beta reader for this fic and it definitely wouldn't have seen improvement if it wasn't for him) and MegaAuthor for their continued and unwavering support of the story.
This story will take a while to complete, but I hope I'll get it done. I really do not have a lot of time on my hands these days; I'm currently working full-time and trying to stretch out enough time to devote to my hobbies and whatnot, while my beta is also in university and is busier than ever. At most, expect one update every two months.
Stories considered for future releases:
Various Pokemon Oneshots: Depending on the time of year, expect a oneshot or something to come out.
Pokemon Heroes: Origins: Potential prequel to Uprising that focuses on the ancient war between the Arceans and Entity Three which ultimately resulted in the fall of the Arcean Empire across the universe.
Pokemon Heroes: Renaissance Rising: Sequel to Uprising. Story details unknown at the moment.
The Ranger Files: Declassified: Planned collection of short stories featuring Pokemon Rangers and their missions, lives, challenges, etc. they have to cope with everyday. May be combined with Renaissance Rising.
Do note that only one major release will be worked on at a time. I've learned that working on multiple fics is a surefire course for disaster the hard way.
Finished stories (no more future updates, listed in chronological order of release):
A Day in Pong
Discontinued/never formally released/dead stories:
The Subspace Emissary: The Days After: This fic was just bad when I first released it. Okay, it wasn't my first fanfic written, but it certainly was downright unacceptable in regards to quality issues.
Metal Slug-Corporate Corruption: I hate to let this go, but with my full attention on Uprising and the Pokemon fandom completely, it's very, very likely this will never be made. I've lost my interest in Metal Slug for a while and most of the elements I've planned for it have been imported over to Uprising (if I find a way to work them into the story, of course).
Metal Slug-The Guerrilla Wars and Metal Slug-Apocalypse Sky: It's official; these stories are dead. After remaining dormant for well over a year and with my full attention on Uprising, I just don't have the attention, dedication, and effort to continue these in spite of the gigantic amounts of ideas that I had planned for them. Maybe they'll see a revival in the future, but for now, I hereby declare these fics to be killed in action. Special thanks goes to MegaAuthor for his continued reviews and support for this series and I am forever grateful for his extensive support for Uprising as the updates come along.
I've also deleted some stories because they didn't meet my satisfactions in terms of quality or overall structure.
These are the factions confirmed to make an appearance in my fic (spoilers alert so don't scroll down if you don't want to be spoiled):
Pokemon Ranger Corps, KDF, Arceans, Team Rocket, UAAF, Red Falcon (predecessor to Team Plasma), Andromeda Cult, Sword of Deimos (debated), Silph Co. PMC, Shield of Sirius, Entity Three's Forces, Pokemon Tech Industries Limited.
United Aerospace Armed Forces/Team Rocket Alliance
"Decimating the weak for a better world suited for the strong and worthy."
All that is known about this organization is a corporate military dominated by aggressive figureheads that hunger for power, war, conquest, and domination.
Possessing military weapons that resemble space-age arsenals, the UAAF has a well-trained force consisting of elite troops with powerful Pokemon and futuristic weaponry alike, while their armored corps is second to none the best even when compared to most industrialized human militaries. Their arsenals consist of:
UAAS Yamato (lead ship of the UAAS class, flying space-age battleship doubling as a pseudo aircraft carrier, captain's name and information unknown. Armed with massive 16 inch plasma cannons and hundreds of missile sites, flak and AA guns)
Although their military hardware makes them formidable, it is their legions of mutilated and transformed Pokemon via the virus that makes the alliance well-known and feared by many.
There are currently 4 known levels, in order of potency and radioactiveness, of corruption via Phazon: Blue, Yellow, Red, Black. Advanced levels of corruption also reveal growths of tentacles, crystal formations, and in very rare cases, Phazite armor platings grown on the victim's bodies.
Pokemon Ranger Corps/Kanto Defense Force Alliance
"Protecting nature, Pokemon and humans alike, one bullet at a time."
The premier defense force that stands at the vanguard of the protection of the four prefectures is the PRC/KDF alliance. The KDF fights conventional battles, while the Pokemon Rangers are called upon for unconventional warfare. While most Rangers and KDF soldiers aren't armed while on peacetime duty, in the events of war and conflict they are equipped with various types of small arms weapons. Using a mix of Pokemon, conventional armored vehicles, and aircraft to combat their enemies, the alliance's future of enforcing peace effectively is brighter than ever.
The Rangers and the KDF's military hardware consist mainly of:
RCS/KDFS Fiore (the first carrier of the fleet to be commissioned, currently in Hoenn's waters)
The PRC and KDF possess bases in many regions, mainly Fiore, Almia and Oblivia, but recently two new strongholds were erected in LaRousse City and Alto Mare.
Their units are well trained and are often distinguished as fearless heroes and heroines, with Rangers such as Lunick, Solana, Kellyn, Kate, Ben and Summer being decorated as veterans for their dangerous and successful work for the last few years. The alliance's best weapons are not their hardware but rather, their specialized agents possessing enigmatic power.
*Identical and/or non-unique units and equipment that both factions use use mutually are not listed here.*
For I can feel the breath of the free wind through my hair, my internal conflicts continue to diminish my sense of freedom and security.
If you actually took the patience and read all of this, you deserve a medal. Until then, take your time and read over some of my stories; I would greatly appreciate it, even more so if you leave some comments behind.
