Author has written 1 story for Mega Man.
Update April 2014
Five years. Goodness. I know I said I was going on hiatus, but I never anticipated it would be this long.
But I'm back! Yes, Diehardstormhawksfan is back! I'm re-energized and ready to begin writing again! Except with a few changes this time around.
First thing is my new pen name, which is also my user name on many sites. Diehardstormhawksfan was just too long to type, but most importantly it didn't reflect me anymore. I still love Storm Hawks of course, that will never change! But I've branched out and expanded my interests, so I wanted a less-specific username. So if anyone is getting eMails about my stories, but doesn't remember adding "Dieced" to author alert, don't worry, it's just your good ol' friend Diehardstormhawksfan with a fancy new name!
As mentioned, I have expanded my interests beyond Storm Hawks. I've fallen in love with so many new series, and joined so many new fandoms since I left FanFiction.net so long ago. Right now I'm very active in the Mega Man fandom, so expect mostly Mega Man stories for the time being, but this will likely change. Only writing for one series was killing my creativity last time, so this time around I'll be trying to add more variety to my works. Who knows, I might even continue some of my abandoned Storm Hawks stories? I took them all down, but I still have the original files on my computer. We'll see. It's all about what I feel motivated to do.
Which brings me to my last, and most important, change. Motivation and quality. Years ago, back when I first started this account, I was cranking out a chapter a day, not editing properly, and not taking the care I should have, because it was fun. Hey, I put in minimal effort and immediately got positive feedback, why shouldn't I have write as many stories as I could think of? But the stories I put out were terrible, and at the pace I was going it's no wonder I got burnt out and sick of writing. Sure, towards the end I finally started to get my act together and give my stories the attention they deserved, but it was too late by that time. My creative "spark" was gone.
I'm not going to let that happen this time. I'm going to slow down, not force myself to write when I don't want to, and not create unnecessary deadlines for myself. I'm going to try and write better stories. I'll ask for help with editing. And I'm not going to post WIPs as soon as they're written, just so I can get reviews. I may not even post certain stories until all the chapters are written. Essentially, I'm going to make an effort to not publish anything that isn't ready to be published. There may be exceptions, of course. Drabbles, quick-writes, challenges, etc. Although I expect those kinds of writings will be mainly posted on my Tumblr, while this site remains for completed stories.
These aren't set-in-stone rules, of course. They're my goals. I can't promise I'll be a better writer this time around, but I can promise that I'll try. Expect mistakes, though. I'm only human, after all, and I am by no means a professional writer. I'm just a girl full of ideas, with a desire to share those ideas.
Anyway, that about wraps this update up! Thanks for taking the time to read it, and wish me luck!
