Author has written 2 stories for Twilight.
Where are you? When's the next update? Have you given up on this story??
Eh. No, I haven't given up. I'm just . . . stalled. See, I've just lost my love of Twilight. I do read the stories I've got on alert, but I just don't have the passion anymore. I'm hoping, maybe, possibly, it will return (gotta watch my DVDs a few more times and read the books or something), so I'm leaving Haven of Family up. For now. But, for the time being, consider the story on long-term hiatus.
My newest passion is the Hary Potter fandom. Now, I've always be a huge fan of the books, and have enjoyed the movies (awful as they are at times), but I've realized that my enjoyment didn't have to end--there's fanfiction! I can hardly believe that I'd never read any HP fanfiction before now. So, anyhow, I've gotten obsessed all over again, and I've been reading HP stories pretty much nonstop (and I do mean nonstop--most nights I don't go to bed till three or four in the morning).
I also have been enjoying a lot of Lord of the Rings fanfiction. I dunno, the LOTR and HP fandoms are just so rich and deep, with wide, wide worlds worth exploring--when compared to the Twilight world, they definitely outshine it all. There's a lot more that can be done, story-wise, in those fandoms.
I'm a relatively new Twilighter, having become a fan after seeing the first movie, though that passion has since tempered and all but died out. I'm a fanatical Harry Potter fan (one of those who dresses up and goes to the midnight openings of the movies, or who stood in line overnight to get the new books). I was a LOTR and Charonicles of Narnia fan long before the movies were even a dream--I started reading those books when my age was still in the single digits (a long time ago, I assure you).
I enjoy well-written, in-character fanfiction that fills in the gaps in the books, or adds believable plotlines to the canon, or creates a believable AU. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to adding favourite authors/stories, so you can be assured that the ones I have listed are excellent!
I've had some experience copyediting and editing, and I have a degree in English Literature, with a minor in Creative Writing. That being said, I prefer to read rather than write. So, if you see any good fanfiction out there, send it my way!
I try to leave helpful, constructive reviews on the stories I read. I can't stand seeing "Gr8 stry!" or "Update soon" left as reviews--those are silly, unhelpful responses. Better to say what you liked (or didn't like) about the story than to leave an unhelpful review. :-)
Anna, a white girl adopted into a Quileute family, moves to La Push with her family. Strange things happen, beginning with a fantastic transformation by Anna's brother. What is this mythical world Anna has been thrust into? Will La Push give up its secrets, or will it all be too much for Anna to bear? Set during Eclipse. Canonical.
Haven of Family notes
Chapter two: QTS holds the high school classes all in one room at the A-Ka-Lat Center in La Push, with all four grades sitting together under Dr. Bruce Cochran. However, for the purposes of this story, I have split up the grades and classes as is usual in traditional schools. Follow the link for more information on the Quileute Tribal School of La Push.
Chapter six: The Thunderbird Myth is an actual Quileute tale that tells the fascinating story of a massive bird that saves the tribe from starvation by capturing a killer whale and dropping it in the village.
