Author has written 5 stories for Twilight.
Hi, I'm Pixiewriter! I am 22 years old and am getting back into my writing again. I will be writing either Harry Potter or Twilight fanfiction for the most part.
I am also a beta reader, so feel free to contact me if you are looking for a beta reader. I will do my best to help any author out who asks.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when readers do not review a story but add it as a favorite or for alert on new updates. Authors get drive from reviews so don't assume someone else will review. If you want a story to continue because you like it- tell the author! Most authors don't continue stories because they interpret a lack of reviews as a lack of interest.
Reviews, Flames, and Constructive Criticism
You shouldn't let people get to you with flames. If you want to write a story then write it, but you need to accept that not every one is going to like it. Posting a story online is a risk because you are putting your work before others and asking them to tell you what you think. Not all these people are going to sugar coat what they have to say or lie to you just to make you feel good. It is your job as a writer to separate what is meant to be constructive criticism from what is meant to be mean and discouraging. Keep in mind that constructive criticism should never be discouraging, but truthful statements on what is needs to be worked on in regards to your writing.
Most people on this site consider themselves writers, and writers should have a basic concept of grammar and spelling. Those who struggle with it should look into getting an editor, or beta reader, to reduce the criticisms. Do you ever expect to become a better writer if someone just tells you you are doing a great job, even though you aren't. If I really like a story I try to encourage the writer, but I also try to point out areas that could use improvement.
The other problem is that with writing fanfiction, if you choose to write a canon-based story, you should be showing the original author the respect of trying to keep the characters in character. Alternate universe stories are different. Those give you a chance to borrow some of your favorite characters and apply them to a plot line that has no connection to their origin.
Every where in the world there are going to be people who want to knock you off your pedestal and kick you while your down, but it is up to you to take the steps to rise above it.
In general I prefer reading canon pairings, but in the HP society I am a major slasher. I have no problem admitting that Malfoy and Harry belong together. I hate people who base any Harry Potter fanfiction off the movies. You will find ONLY book related fanfiction from me, so if your knowledge of Harry Potter does not extend beyond the movies- my stuff may not be for you. I do have an old story that I wrote in highschool Hogwarts' Worst Nightmare as Khaosqueen that I cannot finish because of extenuating circumstances so unfortunately it will never be completed here. If you read it and like it send me a PM, and I will look into posting it elsewhere. But that is assuming I get enough people who want me to continue it.
Yes, I do enjoy my sparkly vampires, and I am proud of it. I will not be basing my stories off of the movies so once again you may not always appreciate my canon related stories.
Things that Authors do that irritate the hell out of me:
1. Deviating from canon pairings. Vampires mate for life with the way Stephanie Meyer wrote the books. They are changed by their mate and cannot revert to how things were before (Edward explained it quite well in New Moon). Read With Time, We Change and you may understand my frustration.
2. Charlie abuses Bella after Edward leaves. He's her father, and he loves her. In New Moon, he was never more than concerned and worried about Bella.
3. Writing a canon based story without keeping the characters IN character. Need I say more?
4. Using AIM speak. Please. You know the English language so use it. If you expect to make it as a writer ever, leave the g2gs, lols, OMGs, bbls, etc. behind because honestly people will laugh at you for calling yourself a writer when you can't even say "I've got to go".
Stories in progress:
1. Don't Say You Love Me
2. Just Friends
Pictures Relating to the Story:
3. You Belong With Me
1. Operation Clumsy Bella
2. A New Cullen and a New Hale
3. Mirror Mirror
Please read and enjoy. Reviews and PMs are welcome. I will consider flames if you actually manage to give me good constructive criticism, but if you tell me my story stinks well then tough noogies. I do plan on posting pictures of detailed outfits and such here and will note when I do so. Please do not just add my stories as a favorite. All I ask is that you review in addition to adding me as a favorite.
