Nature's first green is gold,
“What nobody tells people who are beginners — and I really wish someone had told this to me . . . is that all of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, and it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not.
But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase. They quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know it’s normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story.
It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.” — Ira Glass

Want to talk about books or get recommendations on what to read? I'm on Goodreads and Shelfari as bloodredrosez. I've gone through quite a lot of YA fiction. I'm an avid reader and I love getting recommendations too.
2/14/16 - If you have been reading my Anita Blake fanfic, you might be surprised to know that after more than 10 years I finally finished The Art of the Fugue. Obviously it'll be my last ABVH fanfic as I lost interest in the fandom years ago, but I decided to go back and finish off the story.
One of these days I'll have the time to get everything organized again and fix all the dead links. For now, PM me if you need to find something.
4/26/15 - I revised and wrote some extra bits for the last chapter of Dare You to Live since I was never really satisfied with it, but this will definitely be the last time I edit anything for that story again. I've started my externship at the hospital, soon to be a 40 hour/wk internship for a full year, so I have very little free time left. In the meantime, I've decided to focus more on original writing.
BRR(FL) has been translated into Chinese (on TieBa, link to be posted) by a group of really awesome Chinese translators. Also, I'm excited to say that a French translation is in the works and will probably be posted on this site, so I will link to that when it's up too with all credit to the lovely translator(s) :)
There was a German translation at some point way back in 2006 or so, when the story was about half finished, but unfortunately I lost touch with the translators and I'm not sure where it was posted. I guess if you ever find BRR in German somewhere on the Internet, let me know!
7/23/14 - It's done. Finally. Sorry for the long wait everyone, I've been in Germany and the Czech Republic for half a month and life has been exhausting. There's always too much to do and too little time. Obviously I haven't shared any original stuff in years and am not likely to post online anything I'm trying to get published, but I've been thinking of setting up something so I can share with a few trusted readers and get some feedback.

FFN seems to just eat up my links now but I also have stories up in other places and under other aliases. However, if it's posted in one place, it won't be posted anywhere else. I don't have duplicates of ANY story up so if you come across another copy of my story, I'd appreciate a PM.
