Author has written 13 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, Warhammer, and Harry Potter.
My favourite pairings are as follows.:
Harry Potter Universe:
Harry and Hermione.
If I can say this to myself, I do think that this is the best pairing in this universe. Harry and Hermione have a really strong relationship in the canon story and as much as I love and adore JKR who gave us the material, I believe that Harry and Ginny just doeasn't fit. Simply becasue they had no past. While I do believe that 'Love-at-first-sight' exists, it would have happened with H and G before HBP. Since I like Ron I won't bash him, yet I did not fail to notice that Hermione was always more worried for Harry than for him. Harry is a shy guy who just can't identify 'love' since he had none in his life. He is the main Protagonist and Hero but he still has his flavs and we saw them in OotP. Harry has a short temper and isn't really patient. Ginny just doesn't look like the girl who would sit through Harry's tantrums or help him to cool down, while Hermione would. She really is the patient, intelligent and emotional person who would help Harry through his problems if the issue arrives. Plus she was not really developed in the canon story. If not for the Apparation tests in HBP we would not have known her birthday and to this day we do not know where she lives. The only thing we know about her that her parents are both Dentists, nothing else. That's a bit of a shame.
I just simply can not see the connection between Hermione and Ron. He looks like a normal pureblood wizard who wants to raise a family and have a good job while his wife is the mother of his children and does nothing. I just can't imagine Hermione being a housewife. C'mon. Really. She is too ambitious and strong-wiled not to have a job and to be honest I think she would have a better job than Ron and that wouldn't go well with him.
While with Harry, Hermione would have a nice life. He would not try to limit her in her work or force her into somethink she doesn't want to do. They would end up having a family, that's for sure, but Harry would never force Hermione to be a housewife.
Harry and Susan.
Now that's a tricky one. Susan Bones appeared in, what, maybe two sentences in the whole canon? She is still my favourite 'non-known' character and as a Hufflepuff she would give Harry the love and loyalty he deserves and craves for. The Sorting Hat does know what he's doing, right? As an author I love characters I can form and teist, yet I do not think that any protagonist or antagonist should be changed. I would not make Ron evil or a jerk unless the story really calls for it and I would NEVER make Draco a nice guy. I just hate the prick. Sorry.
And since many character in the HP Universe are great if untouched I have to choose someone to change, hence Susan Bones. She has drastic things in common with Harry, just like Neville does. She lost her parents to Death Eaters and Voldemort and was raised by her Aunt Amelia. She might not have been abused as Harry was yet they share the same past. It's something which can make a very strong connection between them. And honestly? Susan can be changed in any ways an author can, as long as we remain faithful to the Hufflepuff code!
Harry and Luna.
Oh yeah. My utmost favourite. Luna is maybe one of the very best fictional character ever created. She is hilarious, beautiful and has an emotional past that was NOT incuded in canon. I do think that Harry and Luna would make and interesting pairing, even since I would never change her character. She would stay the way God made her (or in this case JKR) and I think that's what Harry would need after the War or even during it. I'm not saying that that's all she's good for. No, she really has an interesting personality. She has these creatures she always talks about and since I do not recognise DH as a canon story (that book was a mass of FF ideas, seriously) we do not know why she knows them. Either they really do exist or she makes them up. If she does, why? Maybe her mother's death messed her up this bad? We know nothing about her and I regret that. I adore her and I think Harry would do anything to help her in getting over her depression over her mother's death and get some self-respect and confidence. That would unintentionall push them closer and then they would eventuall end up together. Or so I sould hope, at least.
