Author has written 33 stories for Primeval, Bill, Numb3rs, CSI, Lord of the Rings, and Pride and Prejudice.
New addition: I AM ON TWITTER GUYSS!!!! @lovingthis3 follow me? :)
Right, I suppose it's high time I changed this around a bit.
I AM LOVINGTHIS!
Yes- do you know why I chose that penname now?!
So, if you've followed me long enough you will be able to figure out my age so I may as well tell you that I'm old enough to be at Uni. There's no point me hiding that fact as if you wanted to figure it out it wouldn't be that hard.
So- yes- I am a scientist.
And, again, yes, this is a scientist who enjoys writing :)
I am not good with spelling and grammar as I am acutely dyslexic. But I try my hardest which is why I don't like it when people use dyslexia as an excuse for poor grammar or spelling. Spelling can easily be sorted with... well ANY word processor, a dictionary or even google! And when it comes to grammar, just learn the rules! Or have someone proof read your work!
So here are the things that *really* grind my gears:
There: that is a position. The seat is over THERE.
Their: that is a possession. Their bags were in a corner. (If you want to be really adventurous you could say that "their bags were in the corner over there"!!)
(Okay, I can be sarcastic too!)
They're: this is short for "They are" which I'm pretty sure is self explanatory.
"Where are their bags?" The mother asked. "They're over there." Her husband replied.
(Pushing the boat out there wasn't I?!)
Over use of a word.
Just re-read your work and see if there's something that you've said too much! If you have, edit it before you upload!
Should of. Would of. Could of.
Well... you don't want to get me started on these. Let me just refer you to my story How Not To Write Fanfiction.
The abandonment of the characters mid story
Not exactly a grammar or spelling issue, but important none the less!
So, I know I sometimes take time to finish uploading a story (Dating A Workmate readers I know you're looking at me now...) but I WILL ALWAYS finish one that I start! You know I take a while but one of my main problems is my head gets too filled with ideas and I never know which road to take. Although I love it when a story comes together at the end and it seems to be a "happy" ending, I do have a habit of making a horrible ending that I wish I hadn't chosen (But quite often I find I wouldn't have it any other way).
Music - Rise Against, The Used, Blue October, Angels & Airwaves, Carpenters, The Blackout, P!nk, Manfred Mann, Linkin Park, Blink 182, Pan!c, the list goes on :D
Reading - I love reading but feel I never have enough time for it at the moment... I have too many favourite books to list but ones that I have read time and time again include:
North and South- I love the mini series too. Richard Armitage is a FANTASTIC actor!
Lord of the Rings- I can easily quote this and find the corresponding passage in the volume I have to any part of the movie in less than a minute :) My Dad's copy of all three books in one was broken as I read it too much. Woops! Buuut, I've managed to buy him a whole new set so all good!
The Belgariad - A 5 part series of books by David Eddings. This series has never got enough credit I think. The characters are beautifully written and the story more believably than many of the other fantasy books I have read...
Old Kingdom Trilogy - Product of another amazing author who has managed to write an original story and keep it going through sequels. Garth Nix's stories are amazing and his work enticing.
Jane Austin - Yeah I'm not just fantasy books. I like the classics too. (Although you may have got that from North and South)
Tv - non existant at the moment- wait until the holidays.
The ones I used to watch were Doctor Who, CSI, Primeval and Numb3rs. (Not in that order)
But, I can't stand CSI anymore. My mum's fault. She watched it excessively before she died and when you've seen the same episode right times in a fortnight it kills the fun of the program.
Other than that all I have to give you is a couple of my favourite quotes:
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant Robert McCloskey
"The clear conviction dawned upon her, shined bright upon her, that he did love her; that he had loved her; that he would love her" North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell
Is this the life that you lead or the life thats lead for you? Paper Wings- Rise Against
Does the walker chose the path or the path the walker? Sabriel - Garth Nix
I wish I was a glow-worm; a glow-worm's never glum for how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out your bum?! I don't have a clue where this originated but I first read this at a small pub after a long cycle ride with a friend and her family. :D
