Fav TV Series
Sherlock - Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson respectively.
Stargate SG1 - I've been a longtime fan of SG-1 and i have all of the seasons on DVD. I also have the movies Continuum and Ark of Truth along with the original 1990's Stargate film.
Granada Series Sherlock Holmes, starring Jeremy Brett and Edward Hardwicke. As much as I love the modern Sherlock, I prefer the portrayal by Jeremy Brett moreso, he captured the very essence of Sherlock Holmes.
Fate/Stay Night - Mages fighting one another using servants for an omnipotent wishing device, what's not to like here folks?
Character Opinons, Anime or Fiction otherwise:
Yoruichi Shihoin - I find her character both amusing and fun in the anime. I really wish that the unused characters that don't get a lot of time have a chance to have their personalities explored. Her background could have been the chance to bring up a different arc with the idea to get insight into the culture of the nobility of the Soul Society. It would have been intresting to mix in a political/thriller aspect in, I doubt the rest of the nobility just sit around looking cool.
George Smiley - I find myself fascinated by his character and the themes that are prevalent in le Carre's books. James Bond was always my idea of a spy when I was in my younger years, yet now I find him more appealing. He is a shrewd man, razor sharp intelligence coupled with extensive knowledge of the human psyche that has been refined by his experience as a spymaster. One aspect that really does appeal to me is his dedication, throughout the novels of le Carre, there is questionable morality and darker aspects of humanity which he faces. Yet, it is through the darkness that we find an understanding of ourselves and the actions of others. Smiley perseveres despite the grim nature of his work and carries on, as if he was carrying a candle throughout a land of darkness to find his way.
Naruto Manga -
I do not hate this anime/manga series.
Things have turned so damned predictable with the series that I simply cannot find it enjoyable anymore. Hell, I bet a drinking game could be made up regarding certain concepts or lines that are repeated in Kishimoto's work. I think that there are some concepts that could have been worked out more in the Narutoverse. Keep in mind, these are my opinions, you can take them or leave them folks.
Sasuke Uchiha -
While I'll admit to having fallen into the Sasu-bashing wave that hit Fanfiction dot net, my perception of him has shifted a good deal. He was a likeable character in the first half of Naruto, up until his reintroduction in Shippuden. A loner with a dark and troubled past, he was rough around the edges and had a history that could have made him a decent foil to Naruto. From my perspective, Kishimoto failed to develop the character properly. He'd have been a good archetypal for the tragic villain if things were taken differently.
That's it for this character, I'll fill this in later.
Naruto Uzumaki -
Orange and black moving target screaming 'Kill me!'
There, I got my joke.
No longer is there the underdog story in Shippuden. I found the first half decent, nothing special, it had it's moments and the side characters were cool. Rock Lee for example. Now, as a Psychology student, I admit I'm going to apply a bit of reality to his personality and character in my own observations of his actions. For a guy who emphasizes on his bonds with those he considers precious, it makes me wonder two things: why pursue Sasuke so desperately? What about the rest of the people he's affected in his life, like Neji, Kiba, Rock Lee, etc?
Wait, didn't Naruto hang out from time to time with Shikamaru and Chouji? Continuing, sorry.
Consider this: Naruto's childhood was neglectful and deprived him of everything that a child needs for stable development emotionally and mentally. We grow up, influenced by the people we see as our caretakers and the materials that are in our environment. He latched on to the idea of becoming Hokage, likely seeing how people respected Sarutobi or spoke of him and it perhaps gave him the idea that becoming a 'somebody' in the village would earn him the respect of others.
As for Sasuke, I can see that they have similar backgrounds in certain ways and sometimes different. Since he had a turbulent past like himself, perhaps on the sub-conscious level, he considers himself the only person who can understand Sasuke and hopes to have that mutual bond of helping one another. I'll come back later when I have more time to ponder, this is just my observations grounded in reality.

Chapter Progression/Story Opinion.
The Burdens We Carry -
Decided to change the title and summary. I didn't particularly like my first version of it.
On a brighter note, I do plan to continue this story. Perhaps over my winter break I can update it a bit and get things back on track. There were a few concepts and ideas that came to me late in the game, setting me back on my writing schedule.
And Yes, I do not have a writing schedule. Going to have to fix that...
Anyway, This will get completed since it's the first story I've ever felt that meant the themes I'm trying to reach with it.
I'm a Junior in college. Pretty damned busy.
