Author has written 15 stories for Inheritance Cycle, Earthsea Trilogy, Lord of the Rings, Greek Mythology, American Gods, and Naruto.
Having gotten off my lazy arse and updated my profile; greetings.
Self description: I am a worshiper of words, to be alliterative; a wandering wizard, a wicked wit, a writer. My gender is currently a subject of debate among my comrades, but I prefer human as a social definition. My forte in terms of authorship is essays, but I am working very hard to pull off narrative. Mostly I write original fiction, which is practice and does not belong on the internet, and that takes up most of my time (hence no/few chapter fics) but fanfiction is fun so I dabble. I love history (preferably scandalous), art (preferably involving dragons) and books (preferably good). This brings me to the second section, which is probably more relevant to the interests of people looking for stories.
Fiction interests: I am voracious, and read everything. My abiding love affairs are with Earthsea (insert bemoaning of small fandom), Discworld (I would like to stalk Vetinari, yes I would) and Oscar Wilde (I love him. I was meant to be his intellectual boytoy in another lifetime and sit in Paris with him drinking absinthe. Anyone who questions this shall be combatted with epigrams). However, I also like other things, including Good Omens (in what other universe can one set supernatural snogging in various historical periods?), American Gods (w00t for Neil Gaiman), Greek mythology, and anything by Studio Ghibli.
I also recently got into Naruto, and will probably be abiding in that fandom for some time to come; my closest friends (including Googala2 and Wildwhisker) talk about nothing but Naruto, and I read the manga purely out of self defense. I oscillate between making fun of the bizarre plot details and psychoanalyzing the characters with utter seriousness. This is largely due to influence from the aforementioned Googala2, who I beta for, with varying success. (She is a wonderfully creative writer with some exceptionally original skills; Akatsuki inclined Naruto fans should check out her work; but her spelling and grammar are appalling and I sometimes miss errors. Mostly I miss them because I'm trying to gouge my eyes out with a spoon due to her forcing me to spellcheck Uchihacest, but that's another story).
In terms of my personal opinions on fanfiction; I have a somewhat limited internet attention span. I tend to read short things, unless the fic is really really good (see Mercator's Seamstress series) or really really fascinating (see The Art of Being Used. Or don't, if evil ninja and their kinky love affairs is of no interest to you). I also like yaoi, or slash, or whatever you want to call it, but I read everything. Everything has this habit of consisting of weird pairings and crack fic. I claim to my friends that this is because I am gaining deep insight into human nature through shipping; they claim it is because I am a pervert. Opinions vary. The point is that you should NOT use my favorites list as a series of recommendations if you are innocent and/or hate reading about snogging.
Current Activities: I took a long break from fanfiction, and have now returned in order to write Naruto fic under Googala2's orders. Quality may vary between later stuff and earlier stuff, although I don't think I've written anything too terrible. I will be publishing oneshots about a variety of Naruto characters fairly often, and I may try my hand at some Discworld, although I hestiate because I idolize Pterry and don't want to deface his canon. Naruto themes to expect include: Kabuto (because he fascinates me and he awesome and squeeeee), various people paired with Orochimaru (because no way does a guy with a two hundred foot long tongue collect a harem of pretty, twisted, powerful young men and then NOT sleep with them), Team seven (because Teamwork. Read it. Love it. Fear its truth) and probably Hashirama/Madara, because if I don't Googala2 will stab me with a fork and stop writing me smut. That would be terrible. She'd probably eat me after I was dead or sell my corpse or something. If you don't believe me then go read Wicked Hearts. No sane person can write a main character like that.
Okay, I'm done. Now go on. Shoo. Read some fic, or don't, if I scared you too badly. Get on with your internet visit. Offyougo.
