I just wanted to say a big HELLO to any of my lovely readers who are still out there enjoying fan fiction, and another giant HELLO to any new readers. Welcome. It's a fun world we've got here. This is really just a general life update, because I realized I dropped off the face of the planet almost three years ago. For anyone who was following my stories, I wish I could say I've been writing up a storm and am going to update with a chapter, or with news about my own still-in-the-works novel, but that just isn't the case. Life happened, specifically life with two kids. I started thinking back to how much writing I managed to get done when I just had my daughter, and she was little, and would cuddle up and sleep next to me while I wrote, but pretty much it's just a big blur of "seriously? How exactly did that happen? Man, I wish I could make time for writing the way I used to...". But enough nostalgia, here's the life update: My daughter is 6, and she's crazy smart, and I've been spending a lot of time working with her and trying to nurture the little genius I see growing up before my eyes, because she is amazing and I swear she's going to change the world. My son is 2, and the sweetest little boy in the whole world, and may also be crazy smart, but mostly right now he just gives the most amazing hugs and kisses, and I have to just take all of those hugs and kisses every time he wants to give them, because watching my daughter grow and learn has taught me that kids grow up faster than we're ready for, and I'd better hang on tight, because pretty soon my little boy will be a big boy and may not want to give all the amazing hugs and kisses all the time. So, writing is pretty much on hold, because of my smart, amazing, loving, wonderful children, and I just haven't had any leftover time or energy to work on stories. I feel the writing bug stirring again, though, and would like to think that in the next year or two (especially when my son starts preschool), I can find a way to get back into the stories that filled me with so much joy, before my awesome babies took over all my waking moments.

PS: We took the kids camping last weekend in my favorite place on Earth... the Olympic Peninsula! It was really fun getting to share my special place with the kids. We ate in Forks, and drove down to First Beach, and went hiking in the Hoh rainforest, a place where it's easy to believe in magic, and my daughter and I looked for fairies together as the rain fell softly around us. It was one of those rare, perfect moments, where everything made sense and time stood still.
