Author has written 2 stories for Baldur's Gate.
I originally started writing fan fiction because I see possibilities everywhere, see lines I want to connect: things that are worth exploring further in the wonderful playgrounds other people have built. What I want most, though, is to create my own world: so I'm looking at this as practice. It's easier to start when you have a foundation to build upon. And using a game as a guide is like having a road map; it cuts down on the likelihood of wandering off aimlessly when you have a destination in mind. The possibilities abounding in original stories are so staggering, I'm still trying to decide on the right path.
So I'm here. Mostly to practice writing, but also because I'm hoping to get feedback to help me improve... and because I get these ideas stuck in my head that I HAVE TO GET OUT.
I have a page onthat has most of my non-professional art (a lot of fan/fun/fantasy stuff, some of the characters from my fics also).
In my free time--when I'm not writing or painting--I'm probably reading. I like science-fiction/fantasy, but I'll honestly read anything I can get my hands on. I'm especially interested in psychology. I use everything from tarot cards and astrology to MBTI personality typing (I'm an obsessive INTP, if that's not obvious... ;)) to dissect my characters. I love figuring (fictional) people out and pushing their buttons, anticipating how they will react, and change.
Right now, I'm going to be staying focused on my BG fic, though I have plenty of other ideas floating (or stagnating) around. Aside from the 'prologue' before the events of the game, the last few years I've been writing pieces and paths from BG1 through the end of ToB. Now I'm going to try to polish it all off and connect it. I'm sure it will take me awhile; it already has. But I really want to get this finished. I have faith in my vision, and I'm hoping you all can help me iron out the bumps so it might match the grandeur of the sweeping epic in my head. :D
