My name is Angela. You can call me Angie, Gela, or Ela. I receive a birthday cake every August 28th. I am female, obviously. I am 10000% filipina. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am currently in my 3rd year in college and I graduated from high school in 2013. My favorite color is baby blue. My favorite show to watch is Pretty Little Liars. My favorite movie ever is Spirited Away. I love to shop at Forever21 and Hot Topic. I loove Kpop and my favorite group is SHINee and I also love Owl City. I love to watch/read anime and manga, if you couldn't tell already. Hoping to be a future writer. So I'm pretty much practicing here.
I'm sorry this is such a weird/boring profile. But, here are some questions and answers you all have probably been wondering about me. If you have any more, feel free to ask away.
When did you start getting into One Piece and what made you start writing?
- I first found out about One Piece when I was just ten years old and it was the year 2005. I was on Cartoon Network and this show with a cool rap for an opening (I know, 4Kids @.@) was on and it was about pirates! I thought it was cool when they talked about the Grand Line and this awesome grand treasure. The show always reran the Baratie and Syrup Village arc so I wondered 'are they ever going to the Grand Line?' And then it stopped airing for some reason, and I just forgot about it. As the years went on, I discovered this one free anime episode on iTunes and it was called Ultra Maniac. Since then, I've been interested in anime and manga.
One day in 2010, I was scanning through the manga section of Barnes and Noble and I stumbled upon One Piece and I saw sooo many volumes! And here I was thinking 'what did I miss all these years?' I was pretty hesitant to pick up on it because there were so many volumes and nearly 500 episodes at the time. However, I did a little research. I found out (and this was what got me hooked) that a reindeer, an assassin, a cyborg, and a skeleton joined the crew, the story just finished a very important war and Luffy's brother (which I didn't know he even had one) passed away, the crew was separated for some reason and Luffy had some new people by his side, Luffy has a marine grandpa, Strong World was a huge big hit movie, and the one thing that pulled me in: the time skip.
Once I finally caught up, I stumbled upon this fanfic called "The Wedding" by bossy and I fell in love. I searched up more stories and every fanfic I've ever read ended up in my favorites list. Of course, I never had the courage to create my own story until I read "One Piece Academy" by Yasaonna-Chan. After I read her story, I literally walked toward my desk, took out my notebook, and started writing the first chapter to "Grand Line Academy" for an hour or two (I still keep the very first copy as a remembrance). I wanted to write a story about them going to school and going through all these made-up adventures. So, yeah.
Why Luffy and Nami? Do you like any other pairings outside the ones in your stories?
- Truthfully, I wasn't into Luffy and Nami being together. I liked them, but I had another couple in mind and that was Zoro and Nami. I know its weird, but I saw this one comment on a ZoroxNami video saying 'Zoro has horrible sense of direction, but since he has Nami, he'll never get lost' or something along those lines. Then I read more Luffy and Nami fanfics and I'll never get over this couple. I did like Sanji and Nami for one minute in my life. In other words, I read one fanfic on them and I fell in love.. for a minute.
Do you have any advice for starting writers?
- Good luck? Hehe I don't know really. No one's perfect. If you're scared that no one will notice your story, trust me, someone will. When I first started, I knew my stories wouldn't get a lot of views from the beginning. I was patient, but I wanted people to notice me. I would get so happy even if I would only get one review per chapter [typical rookie]. As my story got more developed, people started to notice my story. The very first story I ever posted on fan fiction was "Grand Line Academy" and so far, it has the most views and reviews out of all of my stories. And those numbers are still increasing. So, to future writers, I promise that you will do great and people will love your story. If I can do it, anyone can.
