Author has written 6 stories for Star Wars, and Twilight.
Hi, I’m a 22-year-old woman from Australia. I'm no longer active on this site as I don't have the time to write, but I've published a couple of stories in the past. I mainly wrote parodies of series I like (or in the case of Twilight, series I hate); including parodies of the second and third Star Wars movies, a Twilight parody, and lots of little ficlets!
I love to read and write, but don't have that much time to write anything much these days because I'm currently in my 4th and final year of a Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree. Yes, it is the same thing as speech therapy. No, we do not only treat lips and stutters. :P We also treat disorders in all of these areas: expressive and receptive language, swallowing and feeding, voice, articulation and phonology, and pragmatics. My main area of interest is language disorders in children with disabilities, and the use of high and low-tech AAC devices with these children.
These days I'm only really interested in reading Star Wars fan fictions, I guess because I like to see different ways that the prequel trilogy could have been improved. I would highly recommend Ruth Baulding's stories for a perfect example of that, as well as many amazing stories about Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon pre-Phantom Menace. Anyway, I do really like Star Wars, even the prequels - they have many, many faults, but for some reason I still enjoy them. The Force Awakens is a class above them, though. Holy shit that movie was awesome!
Favourite books: To Kill A Mockingbird, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Jane Eyre, A Song of Ice and Fire, 1984, Pride & Prejudice, and others (mainly fantasy and classics).
Favourite movies: Love Actually. Various Disney movies. GOOD adaptations of books I like (e.g. Lord of the Rings, Jane Eyre, the BBC's Pride & Prejudice miniseries if that counts). I obviously love me a bit of Star Wars. I like other movies as well but I can never remember what they are.
TV shows: Not watching anything at the moment. I watched True Blood right up until it finished and I have kind of a love-hate relationship with it. I used to watch Game of Thrones, but gave up on it after the 4th season. It was good in the beginning but I lost interest and decided to just read the books instead. I love Doctor Who, but don't watch it anywhere near as often as I should. Star Trek is awesome too - I like most of the different series (Next Gen and Voyager especially). I am a big fan of sci-fi.
Music: I really love listening to alternative music - I find commercial music to be just boring and generic. The National is my favourite band. At the moment I'm really into finding new experimental electronica on YouTube. Electronica is exciting to listen to because it's the only musical genre that continues to surprise me.
Football: I'm an avid Paris Saint-Germain supporter and I regularly wake up at 4am to watch them play (it sucks to be a football fan in the Southern Hemisphere). Zlatan Ibrahimovic is my favourite player of all time. I love him more than many of my family members. I love the other PSG players almost as much. Other football fans are the bane of my existence because they do nothing but insult me for supporting a team they don't like.
Other things I like: reading fashion magazines and drooling over clothes I'll never be able to afford; playing games and watching people play them on YouTube (I like all game genres but horror games really fascinate me); drinking too much tea and coffee; playing with cute kids during my clinical placements; getting into big discussions with people on the Internet, especially on YouTube and Facebook; seeing bands live; watching Eurovision.
Dislikes: cruel and selfish people, Twilight, Luis Suarez, Fifty Shades of Grey, spiders, people who hate Zlatan and PSG, hipsters, DarkSydePhil (the worst YouTube gamer ever), numbers, homophobes and racists, reality TV, religious extremists, horse people.
