Finally redoing my profile!
Hi everyone, my name is Lauren, and I'm 20 years old, a junior in university.
I pretty much only write Sonic stuff, and I have a terrible obsession with SonicxAmy. I usually don't ship characters in fanbases and such...but Sonic and Amy I would pretty much die to see anything canon SonAmy.
When I was born, my dad actually had two Sega Genesis consoles, and we had every Sonic game on them. As a baby, I was literally playing while my parents held me up and helped me to press the buttons.
I've always been a very devoted Sonic fan, and I even buy games when I know they suck (Sonic 2006, etc)
So more about me:
I read a lot of books, and my favorite books are The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. If you haven't read them yet, then go and read them please!
I'm located in New York, and it's one of my favorite places in the world.
So the following is a list of fanfictions I currently have made/am working on, and my thoughts on them:
A Story of a Tea Pot: Let me tell you, I write a lot of poetry. A lot. This one really was not my strongest piece: and by that I mean it sucks. I tried too hard to get it to rhyme (I mostly write free verse and haikus) and a lot of it was very forced. Though I do like the idea.
All Along: I. Love. This. Story. This is one of my favorites that I've written, I felt like the emotions I portrayed were excellent in this (not trying to brag) and I really like it. It needs more attention though. :(
Amy, the Beloved Thief:Eh some parts of this were kind of funny and cute, but it doesn't make up for all of the grammar mistakes and the repetition. I was young though, and this was one of my first fics, so I think it's alright.
Crazy for You: //insert generic title here// is basically what the name of this one was, lol. This was one of my longer one-shots that I did as a request, and I really like it in some ways, and hate it in others. I felt like Rosy was a bit OOC, and Scourge a bit as well, and my goal is often to get my plot across while still keeping in character, so that was a bit of a disappointment. Overall was a good experiment for me.
Fierce:A very casual story that I enjoy writing, and is very easy to write. I don't feel like a lot of it is my best writing, but it's a cute, light hearted (for now) story that I'm definitely going to finish.
...If you Love me Try and Find me...: The ... should tell you how much I hate this. Honestly I should just delete this story; at the same time though, it shows how far I've progressed over the years. Back then, when during my readings of the comics I hated Sally's guts, I decided to bash her in a fic that didn't even show her character, and I hate myself for it now. This story sucks, the plot sucks, everyone's OOC, I'm done.
My Moonlight Angel:Dear Lauren from 5 years ago: please learn to keep sonic in character, love present Lauren. I don't really like this one very much either.
Secret Affair:A lot of my reviewers probably wouldn't appreciate it if I started getting nasty with this fic (I originally intended to on like fricken chapter 1 LOL) but I don't know if I will...I might make an alternate version of this story on another account with the nasty or something so people wouldn't feel obliged to read it. I LOVE the concept for this story, because I had always thought to myself: "Aren't there reproductive barriers between Sonic and Sally? How can they have kids? How can Sonic even..." you know. So then I was like...woah. Idea.
Signs of You: I LIKE THIS. Don't really know how to describe it, but I like. Me likey.
Sonic: After the Fact:I need to like, continue this. I started it right before I died for like half a year, and I actually think the Knuckles chuckles thing is pretty funny :P
Ten Years to You: THIS STORY IS GOING TO BE SO GOOD WHEN I FINISH IT. That's all you need to know right now...and get ready to feel ;D
The Girl with the Light in her Eyes: I never know which letters I should capitalize in the title lol. Okay, I SWEAR I'm going to finish this one...I really like it, so there's no reason for me not to...plus I actually know exactly where the plot is going, I'm actually just worried I'm going to end it too soon.
The Missing Melody: A cute, quirky story. I like it; not because it's such an excellent piece of writing, but because...well I don't really know. But I like it :3
Heart Snatcher: God I worked so hard on this. It's a remake of Amy the Beloved Thief, and personally I find it light years ahead of the original story.
Never Assume: Half old, half new, I think this story isn't my best, but isn't my worst either.
More to come!
