ABOUT THE AUTHOR Name: Aiselne Phoenix Nocturnus (a.k.a. AiselnePN, or just Aiselne) About the Pen Name: “Aiselne” is from Aiselne Drossel, Tira’s ringblade weapon in the SoulCalibur III video game. Both the Drossel and Tira mirror my writing style—Like my stories, Tira fluctuates between being playful and dark, and her Aiselne Drossel is two-sided: one side smooth, the other bladed. Technically, “aiselne” is mistranslated German “eiserne,” later corrected in SoulCalibur IV, but I grew so fond of aiselne that I didn’t bother changing. “Phoenix Nocturnus” regards my original FFnet fandoms that gave me my roots: “Phoenix” from Pokemon’s phoenix Ho-Oh, “Nocturnus” from Xenosaga’s Jr.’s Mystic Nocturne Tech Attack.
