Parallels on Brief Hiatus

Again. I'm as annoyed as you are. Work has been a nightmare for weeks on end, and I don't want to rush some pretty significant reruns I need to do to the last few chapters.

A Little Bit About Myself

I'm a scientist for a small pharmaceutical company. We do manufacturing for clinical trials for other small pharmas and universities that don't have the capital or the inclination to invest in all the infrastructure and personnel needed to manufacture the gene therapy products they've designed on a large scale. I work in the process development part of the QC department. Our department does various testing to ensure the safety and efficacy of the products being manufactured, and because I'm in process development I get to help with developing the tests to be used on new products as they come in - it's a job that's very important to me but it is very time consuming and I have been struggling with better time and energy management for a couple of years now.

Current Fanfic Writing

My current WIP which probably brought you here is Parallels, a My Hero Academia fanfic in which Deku finds himself in a parallel universe where One For All never existed (so things are very bad). I'm also working on several MHA oneshots and another long-form fanfiction which is sort of a mirror universe story (I will use literally any excuse to save Tomura Shigaraki).

In addition there are several long-form fanfic for Fullmetal Alchemist and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that had big chunks done but then depression decided to whip my butt, so hopefully one day I can finish those and post them, along with finishing the sad graveyard of fics I didn't finish from 2013-2017. Due to how bad I feel about said sad graveyard of fics, I don't start posting until a story is done or almost done now, so you'll just have to take my word for it I have been writing for the last few years.

I also have an account on Deviantart under the name TimeTravelerJessica. Most of the things there are the rougher draft and I no longer post fanfic there, I just thought I would mention it to indicate that I'm not a plagiarist. On the same note I'm going to be cross-posting new stories from here on out both here and on AO3 but my screenname is the same there so hopefully it's more obvious I'm not a plagiarist.

Other

I also write non-fanfiction fiction, hopefully one day I'll actually finish a thing and not hate it as soon as I do. I am considering both self-publishing on Amazon and attempting to go the traditional route. If you get Facebook ads for a book about a foreign princess escaping fantasy equivalent Russia during the fantasy-equivalent Bolshevik Revolution or a book about a childhood friend dragging the Chosen One kicking and screaming to his destiny, I'm sorry, that was me.
