Just for the Halibut, I wanted to post a couple challenges if anyone wishes to take them up. I may even cave and start a new fic with the chapters as the drabbles I just can't flesh out into real stories. I'd love to get an email/PM/link to the story if one of these are picked up. Cross stories with dragons. Be realistic/in-depth if you can. If the characters are going to change (even drastically in action/mentality) come up with background and reasons why. Example: Hobbit-Desolation of Smaug with Temeraire. Or How to Train Your Dragon with the Eragon series.

Off-kilter!Bilbo. Something happens early enough in his life to make for a drastically different burglar when the Company comes knocking. I read one that had him raising Bolg which definitely put a spin on the trip.

SI/OC for any story/genre/cross, but include the new character absently using some of the many phrases/parables/pearls of wisdom that we take for granted. This should make them come across as oddly wise/knowledgeable, but not intended as the focus for the story. Example: The one smiling in a crisis is the one who found someone to blame. Or, Murphy's law of Combat, if the enemy is within range, so are you.

Alt-History!Hobbits. I'd love to see a story about how the Hobbits had long ago been a warrior race, but for whatever reasons, decided to gentle themselves until they were what you see at at the beginning of the Hobbit movies. It would be funny if that something about the pipeweed is a calmative, and due to their physiology they have to eat 7 times a day or else their metabolism speeds their reflexes up and hones their aggressiveness.

I've just found out the awesomeness that is Attack on Titan, but despair of finding well written fanfiction. When you filter for highest review, you get modern age or AU with college or school or cafe type stories. The crossovers have possible goodies like Naruto, but doesn't seem to do it justice... For example, if they are highly trained NINJA, why are they beaten by those of the Recon corps *cough* Levi *cough* and forced to stay captured, or forced to do what the Recon corp want? Where is a good fic that puts a true ninja spin on things? Hell, I'd love to see a fic where the Recon corps make it far enough out to find a true Hidden Village, and get to watch as the shinobi fend off the Titans diligently, if not absently? I leave it up to you to get a village out to the world of Shingeki no Kyojin, but c'mon! Think of the possibilities! And for Heaven's sake, if you're going to have a ninja captured, at least make it realistic... There should be no way they will spill all of their secrets at the slightest hint of questioning... Their skills are hard fought for, and considered village secrets!
