-John Donne, “The Canonization”
Hello, all! We are AHizelm and SorceressCirce, and we’ve created this profile to bring you our collaborative effort known as the Photographer’s Series. This is a collection of interconnected stories with the same cast, each focusing on a different character’s experiences.
The first of these stories is “Exposure,” which will tell Bella’s tale about the relationships that developed out of a chance meeting with Edward and Rosalie. Next up will be “Emulsion,” the story of Bella’s older brother Emmett and his journey to find the one he’s been looking for his whole life. “Bracketing” and “Balance” are the final two stories…but you’ll have to wait just a bit to discover what those are about. ;)
Each of the titles was chosen specifically from photography terminology to relate to its story, so a definition of each might shed some light on what is to come:
Exposure - The quantity of light allowed to act on a photographic material; a product of the intensity (controlled by the lens opening) and the duration (controlled by the shutter speed or enlarging time) of light striking the film or paper.
Emulsion - Micro-thin layers of gelatin on film in which light-sensitive ingredients are suspended; triggered by light to create a chemical reaction resulting in a photographic image.
Bracketing - Taking additional pictures of the subject through a range of exposures-both lighter and darker-when unsure of the correct exposure.
Balance - Placement of colors, light and dark masses, or large and small objects in a picture to create harmony and equilibrium.
Cryptic enough? Thought it might be…
We are incredibly excited to be writing this series together! It may be a bit of a shock to those of you who have read our individual works, but rest assured that we love these characters dearly, and we will be treating them with the same respect and care as all our others. We hope that you will grow to love them just as much as we do. Thanks for reading!

We have a blog as well. You can see it here.
