My profile has been revamped! Haha, get it, re-VAMPED? *clears throat* ANYways, I looked through my profile and realized how old it was, so I decided to redo this since it's nearing midnight and I have nothing to do. :P My name is unimportant, but for those who like to drop PM's about how you have the same name as someone, my name is Kimberly. I got started here when I was assigned an English project and had to make up a story. I chose to write Twilight fanfic and got an A-. One of the proudest moments of my middle school career, I tell ya. Reading is one of my favorite pasttimes, if not THE favorite. Writing and I have a complicated relationship. For all those who are reading my fic, I'm really sorry that I haven't updated in forever. I had a chapter but it wasn't working so I had to scrap that and start fresh. I haven't given up and even if it takes the rest of my life, I WILL finish Prayer. Hopefully, it doesn't take that long. In my time on FF, I've stumbled across truly amazing work, so if you have time, check out my favorite authors and/or stories. There are brilliant writers and/or stories that I've fallen in love with listed. Trust, you won't regret it. I hope. :P If you have any suggestions about reading material, please don't hesitate to drop a PM. If you need someone to vent to, go ahead and send me your rant. If you're feeling lonely and blue, I'm happy to talk to you via PM. Or if you're just bored with nothing to do, I'll gladly respond to a PM with some pervy and/or inapproprate jokes and a rant about nothing in particular. If you haven't gotten the picture yet, SEND ME A PM! I'm a lonely turtle craving social interaction with others via the Internet. :P
QUOTES THAT I PERSONALLY ADORE (you don't have to agree if you want to, just don't rain on my parade):
"As long as there was coffee in the world, how bad could things be?" -- City of Ashes, The Mortal Instruments series
" 'I don't want to be a man,' said Jace. 'I want to be an angst-ridden teenager who can't confront his own inner demons and takes it out verbally on other people instead.'" --City of Ashes, The Mortal Instruments series (don't we all?)
" 'With Jace, you don't really get to choose your insulting nickname.' " -- Clary, City of Ashes, The Mortal Instruments series
" 'It's my motto', said Isabelle, with a sultry smile. ' 'Nothing less than seven inches.' " --City of Ashes, The Mortal Instruments series
" 'What a relief,' the centaur said. 'I'd been cooped up in there so long, my fetlocks had fallen asleep. Now, come, Percy Jackson. Let's meet the other campers.' " -- Chiron, The Lightening Thief, Percy Jackson and the Olympians series
" 'Good-bye,' said the fox. 'Here is my secret. It's quite simple: One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.' " -- The Little Prince
" 'Where are we going?' Stark asked again.
'Well, it feels like a dungeon. Smells like mold and kinda weird b.o., the institutional decor is suitable for either a prison or a hospital psych ward, and it makes Damien think he's died and gone to dork heaven. So take a guess.'
'We're going back to human high school?'
'Close,' she said, her lips lifting in a hint of a smile. 'We're going to a really old library filled with the frantically studying nerd herd.' " -- Stark & Aphrodite, Burned, House of Night series
'I don't remember you being this reasonable before.'
'It's because everyone has different definitions of 'reasonable.' Mine's just misunderstood, that's all.' " -- Lissa & Christian, Spirit Bound, Vampire Academy series
" 'I'm an excellent loony bin crazy-ass sifter.' " -- Sweets, Bones
"I will never tire of watching tapes with Denny. He knows so much, and I have learned so much from him. He said nothing more to me; he continued watching his tapes. But my thoughts turned to what he had just taught me. Such a simple concept, yet so true: that which we manifest is before us; we are the creators of our own destiny. Be it through intention or ignorance, our successes and our failures have been brought on by none other than ourselves." -- Enzo, The Art of Racing in the Rain
"Consider the drivers who have been taken out of races by snapping their steering wheels, by overcorrecting to extremes and spinning their cars in front of their competitors. A terrible position to find oneself in-
A winner, a champion, will accept his fate. He will continue with his wheels in the dirt. He will do his best to maintain his line and gradually get himself back on the track when it is safe to do so. Yes, he loses a few places in the race. Yes, he is at a disadvantage. But he is still racing. He is still alive.
The race is long. It is better to drive within oneself and finish the race behind the others than it is to drive too hard and crash." -- Enzo, The Art of Racing in the Rain
