My name is Kame-Fey, but please just call me Kame. In case you guys didn't know, Kame in Japanese is Turtle (亀). My friends call me Turtle a lot...well not so much now, but they used to a lot a few years ago. And fey, of course, is a type of creature in mythology that supposedly are magical and related to the world of mother nature (depending on what book you have with you at this time). For me, these two words combine a little something from the two halves of my life -- books and manga. And yes, Fey is spelled correctly. Wikipedia might say that it's spelled "Fay," but I grew up spelling it like Fey.
I have several passions worth listing. Obviously, writing ranks pretty high up on the list. That's a given or I wouldn't be writing to you guys right now. But I absolutely DESPISE formal, academic papers. TAKE THAT YOU ENGLISH TEACHERS! I thoroughly believe in grammar and spelling, but I don't think structure is too important to have as a writing asset. If you can get the message across, who needs all the rules?
I'm a huge water sport fan. I used to do water polo but traded it for swimming. I'm not too good, but I have fun with it. I love my best friends, my iPod, Pokemon (does that give you a hint to what ethnicity I am?), and the internet.
What do I hate? Mornings, school, documentaries on penguins (TO DEATH WITH MARCH OF THE PENGUINS), rules, chatty blabbermouths, and anything that has to do with running.
I love the fantasy and supernatural genre. While I do hang around in that section of the library more often than not, I can say I have a pretty eclectic literary sense. I love manga to death. I have all the sites bookmarked on my browser :D. But I'm a huge fan of Tamora Pierce (my first fantasy books ever!) or dystopian societies like the world from Suzanne Collins' books and Unwind by Neal Shusterman (so horrifically epic!!). Another note about me? I am a history buff. Or nerd. Any term works. I don't care. I love history. I can't get enough of it .
You might notice I write my stories chapter by chapter with cliffhangers. I'm not sure how that happens, but it just does. I can't seem to stop! It's an addiction. I guess I like having secrets. But you guys seem to eat them up, so does it really matter?
I also beta-read! Check out my profile!
