Author has written 1 story for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries.
Hi! My name is Deborah. I'm a college student from Brazil. I'm 24 and I love all Sookieverse stories; Eric and Sookie pairing, mostly. Oh, particularly the AH-AU ones; I'm totally addicted to them. It's completely Eric's and writers fault though, not mine! ;)
Oh my... I can't believe I published my own story. I clearly lost my mind with too much free time on my hands over the last year! I just hope it's not too bad and I apologize if you think it is. My heartfelt thanks to every single person who read this silly attempt of writing and especially the ones who left me reviews, PM’s, alerts… You guys rock!
04/11 – Hey guys! How ya’ll doing? I missed you! Yeah, I know… I suck. You probably want to kick my ass real bad, huh? Anyway, I just want to give a heads-up to everyone waiting for a new chapter of CP.
First of all - and although we never know what's comin' our way -, I assure you I will most definitely continue to write Chasing Pavements until it’s done the way I always intended it to be.
Second, I’m really sorry for letting ya’ll hanging for so damn long. I had more them a few problems over these past months; one of them being the main reason for my total lack of updates. In short, what made me start reading fanfic is what prevented me from keeping up with my story. Ironic, huh?
I have arthrosis and tenosynovitis in both hands; although the right one is way more affected, since I'm right handed. (Tell me about bad genetics and wrong choice of career, Sookie). Anyway, I took a break from school and had surgery in my right hand last year. In fact, I was in recovery when I first watched TB. I read the books subsequently, and then found fanfic, arm in cast and all. Such a marvelous way to pass time… I’m sure ya’ll agree.
Once I was splint-free and capable, I began writing my own story, which I loved doing, still do. Before I knew it, classes started again, I went back to school, and things got a bit tricky. Let me tell you something you may not know: Architecture majors don't sleep. It’s hell with maddening softwares and pretty crayons.
I thought I could balance writing and school. Well, it’s only fair to think that after having surgery you’re as good as new, right? Wrong! They can fix it alright, except it’ll never be the same again, but I digress.
Almost all my papers involve using the computer, meaning: no rest for the hand. Therefore, once I stayed too much time on the computer at the end of the semester, trying to finish some damned blueprints, among many other things, my hand was yet again busted. In the end, I didn’t turn two of my final papers, I couldn’t write, I couldn’t do anything. I was in a really bad place back then…
I didn’t have to have surgery again though, just lots of physiotherapy, total immobilization, and complete rest. So that's why you guys didn’t get an update from me for so long.
I’m taking it easy this semester, and I worked out a deal with my professors to turn in that papers I missed at a later date. I'm still working on it, so as soon as I'm done with it I'll work on CP again. The next chapter is already started, and I'm dying to finish it, you guys have no idea! I just can't right now. Hopefully, you'll stick with me a bit more, and I’ll have an update for you soon.
Geez, that was uncalled for. Sorry for babbling! I just felt my dear readers deserved no less than a proper explanation from me. Better late than never, right? Love ya!
All the best,
Sookie thinks her life is perfect just the way it is. But things couldn’t be more far from that. She believes she's no longer capable of feeling love, after what happened a few years ago. She is an emotional cripple living in a shell, until Eric comes into her life and changes everything. Soon she finds herself having feelings for a second time and beginning to believe that maybe her soul isn’t irretrievably damaged, beyond repair. Perhaps he’s the one who can save her from herself and life could actually be perfect.
