Author has written 2 stories for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries, and Twilight.
Hi. I'm Jen. I'm new to the world of fanfiction. (I didn't know it existed before this spring.) I'm 34, married and our only "child" so far is a cat (see my pic for an image of the killer we live with). We reside in Denver, hence the "Colfax" part of my username. I'm a self-employed market and policy researcher and the only writing I've done since grad school has been for business. It's been a blast spending time writing Dead and Mourning and exercising the creative side of my brain.
My husband and I are music freaks, so there's always music on at our house. In the last chapter of Dead & Mourning, I mention my "moody" playlist, so here are the artists that are on it (in no particular order):

Reading has been a lifelong passion. I love the classics and reread some favorites every year (e.g., Pride & Prejudice, Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged). I love the Harry Potter books. A girlfriend turned me on to Twilight this spring and ever since I've been reading "vampire" books for the first time since Dracula in high school. I randomly watched True Blood when I was traveling for work (no HBO at home for me) and was instantly hooked. Of course, that meant I had to read the Southern Vampire Mysteries collection. I'm addicted! If you know of any other book series in this genre, please message me with a recommendation. Many thanks to Anne from MN for turning me on to the Hallaway series of books. I'm always up for new recs!
If you're reading Dead and Mourning, thank you!! Please check out my favorite stories and authors if you're looking for something good to read. I'm astounded by the creative and talented writers on this site.//
For those of you who've been wondering about Dead & Mourning -- the story isn't dead; it's just stalled. Between RL and writer's block, this fic is at a total impasse. I'd love advice/ideas from any of my readers. In the mean time, I've been on a Twilight fix, so my newest idea is in that genre.
