HAPPY SAMHAINNE EVERYONE!!!
I hope you are all enjoying the Halloween Season as much as I am...
So, sadly, this month has not been as productive as I would've liked...specifically in terms of my original writing.
So a few announcements:
Raccoon and the Shadow King is on an indefinite hold while I get the final chapter of Part II up (i have a plan for part three and four but I'm really struggling with the plot for that story i'm honestly wondering is it enough?)
Also I've had a wonderful idea for an original story based in the same universe as Raccoon and the Shadow King where Yugi and Atem's characters would be side characters acting as the Fae King and Queen of the wild wood. In this story, Yugi (the heroine) finds herself married to the village's Apothecary/Spell Maker/Fae Doctor (Timaeus/Atem) who family and himself has provided her family with amazing medical service free of charge for much of their lives, and though she wishes for a life of excitment and adventure finds herself married when he asks for her hand instead and of course hr family excepts, but she inadvertly gets her wish when she's wisked away to her Spell Maker's husband's home--a mobile, shapeshifting cottage that walks on feet (I was originally inspired by Baba Yaga but can also see some Howl's Moving Castle references in there as well) and quickly finds herself in a magic house where stories, and spells are real, there is a house sylph keeping the place tidy, a fire spirit in the hearth, and faeries in the garden and all matter of mishaps as she faces growing feelings for her husband, learning the trade of Spell Making and magic and explores the magical world around her--I think it's a story i'll have a LOT of fun with once i figure out the plot, though God knows i have plenty of those
After much debate, I've decided the next chapter of Timaeus will be going through a massive rewrite and possible split as I'd like to give them more of a bonding build without the other characters there to get in the way and gradually build up to the next parts. PHEW!!!
As I've mentioned my plan to turn Timaeus into an original historical fantasy novel, I'm seriously debating if I will post parts three and four up here, or rewrite the entire story in its original format, especially since several plans I have for part three and four involve changing Yugi's gender from male to female (as Yugi's character WAS based on one of Pinedjam's I's lesser known daughters in history--so to all my readers and reviewers, if I DO end up taking this story down would you be interested in reading the rewrite and offering me feedback?
Lastly, my goal is to finish as many chapters of At the Kings Pleasure as I can, or at least enough to keep the bi-weekly updates on a consistent basis.
After a SERIOUS debate and using the autumn season to reflect on my decisions and life goals, i have decided that, for the first time I will be SERIOUSLY taking part in NaNoWriMo next month. Starting October 6th, after Faeriecon I want to use that time to focus on writing the rough draft of my novel--as it is long over do, as well as doing a 30 day poetry challenge where I challenge myself to write one poem a day each in a different format, both to challenge myself creatively but to give me a large pool of works to FINALLY complete my poetry collection.
At the end of the month I plan on evaluating both goals and then making my next writing decisions from there.
Wish me luck!!!
