Challenge: Toku no Naruto (Naruto of the Shield)

I don't think I have what it takes to actually make a good Naruto fic. So I would like someone to take up this challenge.

The main basis I would like to see this fic have would be to have Naruto use any attack or ability or bloodline he might have to be used defensively, like an elemental dragon circle around Naruto against another elemental attack. His primary weapon would be a shield. His fighting style and perhaps taijutsu would revolve around using his shield, kind of like Captain America. The shield could look like anything you want, or have any abilities, as long as they could be used defensively. If you make it a bladed shield, that would be even better. For a summoning contract, instead of the usual, you could use an animal that has great defenses, like a turtle, armadillo, pangolin (preferable to me, but you don't have to), snail, or something similar. Of course, if you want to use the toads, that's fine, as they have many uses. The bloodline, if he has one, could be made up, or it could be an existing bloodline, such as the Shikotsumyaku, Hyoton, Rinnegan, or whatever you decide, as long as there are defensive capabilities.

As for story and development, you can do whatever you want, as long as Naruto as a need to defend others, which obviously won't be an issue with him. For pairings, it would be preferable for it to be NarutoXany fem. I would want to see Guren in the pairing with Naruto, if you can, but it is not mandatory. Absolutely NO YAOI! As for Naruto himself, I would like him to be a smart/street smart Naruto, who is very good at seals. On the matter of bashing, you may bash whoever you want, be it specific people, like Sasuke and Kakashi, or an entire village, like Konoha. Of course, if you do not want to bash anyone, that's fine too. The rating can be either T or M.

If you notice, there are not a lot of restrictions, and I have given out suggestions for things like bloodlines or pairings, but they are not things you have to do. Honestly, I don't like putting restrictions on what people write, because I believe that they shouldn't be hassled by others on how to write their stories. It annoys me a little when people put reviews like "Put (insert name) into the pairing" or (He should summon (insert animal)" and they don't give a reason why they should. Whenever I review something, I usually try to give a reason with my suggestions, and if it doesn't happen, I don't whine or flame about it. It's juvenile and doesn't serve any purpose to whine or flame the writer. Anyways, unless they give a poll or something, you should let the story flow and it will come out better than before.

Hopefully someone will take up this challenge and make it into a worthy fanfic. If you do, then I wish you success in all of your stories.
