Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter, and Music Man.
Well, hello there! Since you're at my profile page, I am to assume that you want me to tell you about myself. (I'm not sure why, but that's entirely irrelevant.)
Some stuff I like: Harry Potter, musical theatre, sugar, sparkly things, chocolate (which may or may not fall under the heading of "sugar"), Honors English mutations of Shakespeare, the potential horror film based on Antigone: BRIDE in the HOUSE of the DEAD!!, caffeine, SUMMER, reading Schmerg_The_Impaler fics over yonder on Mugglenet, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Favourite Books: Harry Potter series, Artemis Fowl series, Bartimaeus Trilogy, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Northanger Abbey...anything by Jane Austen, Pendragon series, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The Five People You Meet In Heaven (which bucked the trend by being a truly amazing book that we had to read in school), Ella Enchanted, Fairest, and The Theft and the Miracle (a really obscure book, but really good!).
Please note--Twilight was NOT on that list. Nor will it ever be. This is partially because I could barely keep my eyes open through the long, and frequent, descriptions; partially because the plot is not engaging at all; and partially because every time the word "smouldering" was used to describe anything other than a bonfire at a barbecue, I ended up wanting to stick forks in my eyes. That is all.
Favourite Movies: The Princess Bride, Pride and Prejudice (the Kiera Knightly version or the Colin Firth version), The Bourne Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum, Madagascar, Mr. Deeds, ALL DISNEY MOVIES, The Italian Job, The Lake House, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping, Kate and Leopold, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, everything my friend "Sunshine" and I watch at about midnight at our sleepovers, Music and Lyrics, ALL VEGGIE TALES MOVIES (I rock out to Silly Songs with Larry!), et cetera.
Favourite Shows: West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Aida, The King and I, The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Wicked, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Footloose, Oklahoma!, Movin' Out, Anything Goes, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King.
Favourite TV Show: "Doctor Who". No contest. It is the epitome of amazingness. *hops in the TARDIS while twirling my sonic screwdriver*
Favourite Music: "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations, which is THE BEST SONG EVER RECORDED BY MAN; "Drops of Jupiter" by Train; ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING by Billy Joel, the Guru of Awesome (my current faves are "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" and "Uptown Girl"); Josh Groban ("If chocolate could sing, it would sound like Josh Groban." So true.); Creed; Incubus; Collective Soul; Kelly Clarkson; Sixpence None the Richer; Counting Crows; Five for Fighting; Jordin Sparks; Taylor Swift; We the Kings; Goo Goo Dolls; Daughtry; Journey ("Don't Stop Believin'" is the official song of the name of my school chorus!); The Beatles; Matchbox 20; Rob Thomas; Leona Lewis; Dido; Snow Patrol; 3 Doors Down; One Republic; Coldplay; David Cook; Daniel Powter; Lifehouse; Secondhand Serenade; Gavin Rossdale; Vanessa Carlton; Paramore; Jon McLaughlin; Bon Jovi; Fall Out Boy; Jon'ra.
Favourite Word: (I TOLD you I was a nerd, I even have a favourite word!) Floccinaucinihilipilification n: the estimation of something as worthless. Also the longest non-technical word in the dictionary.
Fears: failing, geometry, failing geometry, my geometry teacher, large spiders, cement mixers, raptors (THEY'RE NOT EXTINCT! Is YOUR house secure?), rejection, and the Spanish Inquisition.
STATUS OF STORIES
GENERAL NOTE: For the past who knows how long, I've been suffering from an intense case of writer's block. I really mean to update regularly, and I'm so sorry, but until I get inspiration again, all my stories are on official hiatus. Again, I'm sorry! I hate it when authors do this, myself, but there's really nothing I can do about it. I try to write and it comes out crappy, and I think I owe you all pretty good quality writing after this long, so I have to wait until my muse returns. In the meantime, please enjoy this batch of e-cookies! And also this video:.
The Slushee Man: This is a pet project of mine. Our school did The Music Man the year before I came, and I played flute in the pit orchestra. While I was watching one of the rehearsals, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if, instead of the kids in the boys' band, everyone gets distracted by slushees?" And, cliché-edly, the rest is history. Or rather, the present--I've been slacking off with writing it. The way I'll probably end up dividing it will be a couple of scenes per chapter.
The Parkway Diner: A fairly new piece that I think is turning out pretty well. Part Lily/James fanfiction and part tribute Billy Joel (the Guru of Awesome, remember?), this starts out with James being engaged to another, but what will happen when he has numerous run-ins with Lily Evans, his ex-girlfriend in the week before his wedding? As a possible solution for doubts he's starting to have, James and Crysta meet daily to exchange one fact about themselves the other didn't know...
Mischief-Making for Dummies: One of my favorites of everything I've ever written. Written from Sirius's perspective, this is a guidebook for pranksters which includes a Do's and Don'ts section, details on the Marauder's Map and the teachers, secret passageways, and the ubiquitous cheesy examples! ONESHOT.
Stuck on You: Well, I only got around to adding this in here after I posted the story. That is partially because I wrote it yesterday, submitted it today, and didn't even think of putting a description up here. SoooOOOOooo...It's a fluffy story about my all-time favorite pairing, Lilykins and Jamesie-poo! (I'm not sure why I'm acting so silly right now, I just am. Bear with me.) Basically, Lily's whole family doesn't even have one spinal vertebrae put together, and she doesn't want to go that way. So, when James asks her out, she says no because she doesn't want to be a pushover. However, in seventh year they become friends, and Lily discovers she has feelings for James. Can he break through her resolve and make her realize that some things are more important than stubbornness?
That's all for now. Toodles!
