Author has written 13 stories for Kingdom Hearts, La Corda D'Oro, Rainbow Brite, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ouran High School Host Club, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, Scooby Doo, Teen Titans, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Hello from Tiggerola, aka Refi-chan. I just got married and am currently a happy homemaker who loves to write. I love to keep things appropriate for all ages, but have deeper inspirational meanings. I strive to have layers in my writing so multiple readings will grant additional insights and can appeal to people in different aspects of their lives. As far as fandom goes it's probably safe to say that I specialize in anime. Fruits Basket is my favorite anime of all time, but I end up doing a lot with YuYu Hakusho. Recently most of my fandom ideas are Kingdom Hearts based. However, I'm trying to progress to working on my original stories since I have tons of ideas for those too!
If any of my writing inspires you to write or draw or anything else, please link me up! I'd love to see it!
I have written, photoshopped, performed, and produced to create stories and ideas to share. My strong point is in script writing, maybe it's the actress in me, but I love writing that way, but I've been working on story form as well.

I've pretty much caught up posting what I already have written, so the incomplete stories are still ongoing. I will focus on working on the stories interest is shown in the most, so if you want more of one, please review so I know that story is being read and enjoyed!

I'm also highly tempted to post up Slumber Party adventures from my castle if there is interest. It started with Kurama and then Hiei. Then we had Yuki and Sesshomaru. Kyo and Haru. John Burgmeier night with Eyes Rutherford and Shigure Sohma...and Kurama, but he wasn't a 'guest' per say since he was treated in the first one. And then Guy from Tales of the Abyss with Jade taking over. But they're more quick and funny interactions than stories...so it may not go over well here, along with many of my other old posts. Still, they can be found at my Cartoon Cops Mission's page, especially under the From the Castle section.

MY WRITING PHILOSOPHY
a.) Vegeta is a Mary Sue. He is no where in DragonBall, then shows up in DBZ with tons of power to combat the main character for the rest of the series. Has a kid with a character that already had another love interest. Oh, and he's royalty!
b.) Aqua is a Mary Sue. She kicks some serious can. Extremely accomplished for her age (youngest apprentice to earn the Mark of Mastery for some time, no?) Great physique (I know the fan boys have noticed). Arguably, there's a lot of guys that like her too.
c.) Leo Tolstoy uses a self insertion in Anna Karenina. The story follows 3 couples to compare and show the consequences of their different choices so as not only to warn against the bad, but provide a sample of the good. His self insertion is the ideal he was trying to portray to the reader.
d.) Lion King was great but then came Lion King II where all of a sudden there were all these lionesses had been exiled for following scar. Where did they come from? And Scar has kids, including sons? In the first movie all the lions we saw other than Mufasa, Scar, and Simba were female. Also, he 'hand picked' a successor that was probably young enough to have been born after his death. (Don't get me wrong, I love all the music in the movie!)
In continuing a series, introducing new characters is essential. As we go through life, we meet new people all the time. Characters need some use or why is there a point in having them there? It is acceptable to have a 'control' so the reader knows the authors point of view. Still, this doesn't excuse every new character introduced in a fan fiction, they need to be put in tastefully. Mind you, sometimes the producers get lazy and you know Sora's Dad is on the island with kid Sora and Riku but they didn't program him into the scene...I guess at least they mentioned him.
Out of Character/Character Growth
Zelgadis from Slayers. We don't learn many of his talents until the third season like plotting coordinates, playing guitar, and breaking into safes. So why can't other characters have talents not yet revealed in cannon? Then in an even later saga, he runs off crying about a remark on his appearance, when showing emotion like crying is very OOC for him. (I think it's the only time we really see him cry in the whole series) So, if a fan fiction writer comes up with it, they get flamed. If it shows up in cannon, it's brilliant.
Also, we as human beings are always changing (hopefully better, but sometimes worse) So why force characters to be stagnant? Albeit, it does help for a reader to see the change instead of just BOOM without explanation on why a character has had a drastic change. (Even if the change is explained in the authors note, it helps a lot!)
I usually root for the cannon, but a few cracks have wandered into my mind, so I'm also lenient on most het. pairings as long as there's a little bit of logic to it. Seriously, how many 14 year olds stay with their bf/gf after high school? In reality, next to none. Yes, I've seen life past high school, past college, past...(let's not date me her lol) People rarely marry their childhood sweetheart, mostly because an individual's true personality doesn't come out until it has had more time to be explored and developed. Trust me, my interest in high school are things I rarely do now (like the viola I was so obsessed about) and now I'm into things I didn't even know existed back then (like anime).
So with crack pairings, if there's one common bond between two characters and they form a relationship of any sort (friendship, family, romantic, etc.) and expand on that, I'm perfectly open to it.
One True Pairing
Who am I to say who they love? I believe in giving characters their agency XD (I still have some biased favorites though lol)
I'm tolerant of reading smaller swear words if they are sparse, but for my writing, I keep it G rated. There are so many better options that I don't use it. Even if colorful language is 'in character' or a certain phrase makes the impact of one character offending the other, it not only effects the characters, but the reader as well. It takes more skill to have the characters make the same impact on each other without deadening the soul of the reader.
"God" is a respectful term I use for my Heavenly Father. Referring to deity is the only instance I use that word. For any other societal need, "gosh" works just fine.
I don't write it and I don't read it. End of story.
If there is someone who writes a yaoi with the conclusion of it would have been better to have been straight or something along the lines where it doesn't glorify that lifestyle, I commend you! (Tastefully, mind you, not mockingly)
Explicit Content such as Drugs, Violence, Erotic, etc.
I don't write it and I don't read it. Especially where such is glorified or presented as normal. If someone tastefully can present such with the proper consequences that show how such is wrong, I commend you. I still would rather not read it myself because being exposed to the acts required to do such gives me a more disgusting view on society, and I'd rather appreciate the goodness of society than join Sensui's end of the world party! (Seriously, in YuYu Hakusho what Chapter Black did to Sensui's train of thought (as well as seeing the Black Black Club's actions) is exactly what R-rated movies do people.)
Movies and books and music DO effect you! The pen is mightier than the sword! Science has researched that when you watch a movie, and you see someone go do something, a part of you has also partaken in the same action.
There is evil out there and it is very real. Many people would deny this, sadly. I try to combat the filth in the world with uplifting stuff and would love to find other works that promote the same. An example is how Kingdom Hearts can make such a captivating storyline without resorting to all sorts of "mature" content to get audience attention. (What fans do with it is another story, but KH in-and-of-itself is clean)
WHAT I WRITE
Longer plots that are complex and in layers. Crossovers that are usually humorous. Whenever I've attempted romance, they always seem to turn out with comedic ends as well. So my stuff is usually serious and uplifting with a joke here and there. I also love to make allegorical references and hide principles of truth in my writing. I love to fill in plot holes and explain how things still work when at first it doesn't match up. As much as I'd love to have been in a series, I leave those dreams in my head and just write things that fit with the canon. (Memoirs of the Mind is an exception since it was fit with the canon before BBS came out and there were lots of good principles I want to share, so I'll continue it as is)
WHAT I LOVE TO READ
The stories that have had the greatest impact are those that show me something in a new light and teach me something new. Something that has metaphors/similes or adds a new depth to the story.
I think romance is overdone in the media, so I usually avoid such. Now a story that has substance without the romance part of it is okay, so long as the romance isn't the main focus.
HOW I REVIEW
I was brought up that "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." mentality. I've chosen to keep with it because being negative doesn't usually solve any problems. If I read something I disagree with or find offensive, I'm not going to say anything unless the writer specifically asks me my opinion. Me expressing my views isn't going to change someone, especially if I put them on the defensive.
I also hate leaving reviews that are general and could be put there without me actually reading it. So if I liked it, I try to point out some of my favorite parts or how the writing has effected me.
WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A REVIEW
Flaming is just mean. I would hope readers would treat my writings with the same respect I show theirs. I am not one to waste energy on a debate.
What I'd really love to know is your reaction. Let me know what made you laugh, cry, angry (and hopefully it's something intentional to make you angry-about a subject rather than angry at my writing). It's nice to know people laugh at my jokes and such so when I reread and can laugh with you, feel your pain, etc.
I also like to know if people pick up the points coming across. If you notice a connection and it's like "I totally agree!" or "Wow, I never thought about that before." My main goal in writing is to inspire others, so the reviews that make me feel the best are those about how my writing effects the reader. (Communicating back and forth with my readers is not typically a luxury I'll have with my all-original stories.)
Also, if you see a mistake that can be fixed, it's probably best to message me instead of leaving it in a review. If I fix the problem and someone reads your review and tries to look for what you're referring to...yeah well the review is outdated and may cause confusion ^^;
If something of mine inspires you to write a plot of your own, variation of the story, draw a fan art, produce an audio drama, role-play a certain way, write a song, cosplay, or any other form of fandom, feel free to go for it! Just please let me know :3 Depending on how much inspiration comes from me (relative to other forms of inspiration) and the type of fandom, it would be nice to give me a little credit, but that's not required. BUT STILL I'd love to see what you come up with!
(Mind you, inspired by my stuff...not stealing my stuff! If it's a snippet of an idea that I'll never finish and you expand on the idea, that's inspired. If you use copy/paste and post, that's stealing.)
