19-1-8: It is finished! "Lost in Paradise" chapter 36, the final chapter, is up, and my apologies to readers because it is long enough to be its own fic. DX I wanted to give everyone a nice happy ending (or, you know, as happy as can be when 9/10 of the characters are already dead), but there were so many plot lines to address, I never thought I'd reach the end of it!

Now that I have, I want to thank everyone who supported me by reading and especially commenting along the way. It's been a blast and an honor to geek out over this series with the YnM fandom, and share with all of you this massive plot that's been so vivid in my head for so many years. After 300k words, I think I'm gonna need a little break from writing Yami no Matsuei for a while.

I think I mentioned at the beginning of this that I got hooked on YnM and Evanescence at the same time, and two songs really helped me to capture the feeling of the ending to this story: "Even In Death" (the original, 2000 version) and "Good Enough". (If there are any Gackt fans following, you might have noticed "death wish" and "Doomsday" were also inspirations. Maybe it's past time I made a playlist for this series...) I just have to give credit where it's due, because I don't think "Gone to Earth" or "Lost in Paradise" would ever have been written if not for Evanescence's music putting the images in my brain and refusing to let me ignore them.

19-10-23: It's been a long time! Over the summer I had myself a Gundam Wing rewatch, and it spawned a few short fics, the two finished of which I've posted here. Both Quatre- and Trowa-centric, both hurt/comforty, and with mentions of the Peacemillion episodes. Cos if you're going to go back and visit your old neighborhood, you want to spend time on the things you loved the most, right? (There might even be a "Big Wheels" sequel in the works, but no promises.)

Also edited "the width of a room" while I was at it, to make it a bit more legible.

20-12-23: It's been more than 20 years since I started writing "Rubies in Zoisite," plenty of time for one's writing style and abilities to improve. I'll be slowly updating each chapter (chapters 1-6 already done as of writing this; 7-11 slated for mid-January), trimming the fat, improving dialog and action, as well as fixing some text break formatting that have been visible on AO3 all along but that ff dot net dropped from previous versions. Hopefully this long-overdue edit will be a lot easier to read.
